Title: Liveries
Post by macca22au on Aug 25th, 2014 at 5:39am
I have found a number of liveries for Air New Zealand  777, but they cannot be made to 'work' in ' CS777 for P3D v2.

Other liveries which specify a model and engine type do, but those that claim to be for the base pack (not found in v1.4 for P3D2) do not come up in the Select Vehicle list.

Could a kind person assist if they have a livery that will install.

Which ones are they? Any chance that you can you provide a link to them, so I can check them out? ;)

Mark

From the AVSIM site.

ftp://205.252.249.50/civil_flight/msfs/fsx/aircraft_repaints/texture_anz_288554.zip

You're a brick; many thanks for your willingness to assist.

PS: I have put in a ticket on my problems with ACES, but I would love to get a replacement for the ACES exe and bin.

Okay.

When I add this one, I change these first lines:

[fltsim.XX]                           <-------- REPLACE XX FOR LAST NUMBER +1
title=CS 777-200 Captain PaintX       <-------- REPLACE X FOR LAST NUMBER +1

to

[fltsim.8]                           <-------- REPLACE XX FOR LAST NUMBER +1
title=CS 777-200 Captain Paint8       <-------- REPLACE X FOR LAST NUMBER +1

And then there is a very obvious difference that is caused by the fact that it was created for the Captain Sim 777 Exterior Model (version 0.1), as explained in the "description" here: description="777-200ER ZK-OKA REPAINT BY MARCELO F. VENEZIALE  Exterior Model\n777 Captain 0.1\n(c) 2011 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com"

So to fix it, I had to do this:

[fltsim.8]
title=CS 777-200 Captain Paint8     <--- I changed this to CS 777-200ER GE Captain Paint8
sim=x772      <--- I changed this to csx772_GE
model=200     <--- I changed this to 200ER_GE
panel=
sound=
texture=ANZ
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=ZK-OKA
atc_airline=Air New  Zealand
atc_flight_number=777
atc_heavy=1
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type="777-200"     <--- I changed this to "777-200ER GE"
ui_variation=AIR NEW ZEALAND
ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner"
ui_createdby="Captain Sim"
engine_type=GE90-94B    <--- I had to add the entire line as it is not included in the fltsim.xx section in the readme file.
description="777-200ER ZK-OKA REPAINT BY MARCELO F. VENEZIALE  Exterior Model\n777 Captain 0.1\n(c) 2011 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com"

I also changed the description to this:
"777-200ER GE ZK-OKA REPAINT BY MARCELO F. VENEZIALE\n777 Captain 1.4\n(c) 2014 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com"

And here it is in Prepar3D v2.3 Academic:

Looking nice and pretty. ;)

And to make it all nice and easy for you, copy the following code, and you will only need to to change the first two lines to fix it in your aircraft.cfg file. ;)

Code (]
[fltsim.XX):

                          //<-------- REPLACE XX FOR LAST NUMBER +1
title=CS 777-200ER GE Captain PaintX       //<-------- REPLACE X FOR LAST NUMBER +1
sim=csx772_GE
model=200ER_GE
panel=
sound=
texture=ANZ
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=ZK-OKA
atc_airline=Air New  Zealand
atc_flight_number=777
atc_heavy=1
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type="777-200ER GE"
ui_variation=AIR NEW ZEALAND
ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner"
ui_createdby="Captain Sim"
engine_type=GE90-94B
description="777-200ER GE ZK-OKA REPAINT BY MARCELO F. VENEZIALE  Exterior Model"777-200ER ZK-OKA REPAINT BY MARCELO F. VENEZIALE\n777 Captain 1.4\n(c) 2014 Captain Sim www.captainsim.com"

Enjoy.

Mark:  how on earth can I thank you.

I will use this as a template for others.

Given your astonishing kindness, and I assume free service, I can only wonder why the CS professionals do not follow your example and provide support directly through the forum.

Maybe that way someone from the centre could help me sort out my continuing pathetic ACES problem.

I am at present flying the another company 777 tutorial flight VRMM-OMDB.  I understand that there is no finished tute for the CS?

Because the ANZ livery was done by Marcelo F. Veneziale for the Captain Sim 777 Exterior Model (v0.1), I knew why it wasn't working for you. Seeing as I had already done it for myself (the QANTAS livery also done by Marcelo). ;D

I did that tutorial flight a few times as well. ;)

No. There isn't a complete tutorial for the CS777. ARNZX was going to finish the one he started, but he never did. :(

I appreciate the points that you have made, and acknowledge them.

I have submitted a ticket on my ACES problem and as yet not had a reply. I was hoping I might be able to get a standalone installation of the ACES.exe and bin.

I just bought the 300 Expansion and I'm very disappointed with the Liveries.

Captain Sim says they have LOTS of Liveries...

Actually it's a big lie, because all the links are broken and when I search for it on Avsim, I found just a few of them and Repaint Kit to download is only for 200.

How do I get refund of the Expasion?!

The majority of liveries are not stored at our servers,we just keep the catalogue. We are not responsible for the third party file libraries.
