Title: ILS landing problem
Post by Pisitt on Aug 18th, 2014 at 1:28pm
Hi, I got the problem with ILS landing.

I have set FMC correctly to land at VTBS RWY 19L, 01R and in WSSS at RWY 02R. The problem I faced after install sp1.4 is that the aircraft not line up at the centre of the runway even it is intercept by localizer. the green mark indicated that aircraft not in the centre as well it is on the left from the middle point.

Since the update I have only ever intercepted in the middle 1/10 flight. So i need to disengage auto pilot to line up in the centre myself and turn on auto pilot for approaching. Sometime need to do manual landing myself.

What I should do to make my aircraft line up at the centre and make a nicely approach and landing?

1. I do not have an Airport designated VTBS in my FSX!
2. WSSS in my FSX does not have a ILS RWY 02R either.

So I cannot test my CS777 at VTBS, or on RWY 02R at WSSS. :(

I do have a ILS RWY 20R at WSSS, and even though it's not the runway you mentioned, I still gave it a try. :)

On approach to WSSS ILS RWY 20R - Lined up nicely.

Touchdown on WSSS ILS RWY 20R - Not quite dead centre, but pretty close.

Well I type wrong Runway so it should be 20R, however I still can't get into centre enough as well. I experienced this problem since install SP 1.4

I thought that might have been the case. :)

Maybe you should uninstall, then reinstall the 777 to see that fixes the problem. Make sure that all the folders starting with CS_B777, in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder, are completely gone, so nothing of the previous version remains, before you reinstall v1.4.

Another question is why I didn't hear 'approaching minimum' 'minimun' while about to land?

Thus take off also does not have V1 sound?

Same problem over here. I'm having the same problem with ILS/runway alignment when on final approaches. The aircraft not lined up at the centre of the runway at all five times I have tried on diverse airports, after installing v1.4. [Repair] option didn't work.

Maybe the downloaded file (csx772_1400) is corrupted. I'm downloading right now a fresh one file from the second source.

Have you seen my posting under P3D?

Bizarrely I'm having the same issue in P3D but not in FSX!

But as you say it could just be a corrupt installation.

Will investigate further with a fresh download/installation in P3D in a similar vein to you on FSX.

Seems like all those that have a problem landing on the centerline have a corruption problem, not likely, more like an issue with something else. :-X

We've had a thread on this same issue going on in the P3D section.

I can't speak for FSX but after numerous reinstalls, registry and folder cleanouts, etc. and still have the issue.

I think we may be able to put this issue to rest and simply chalk it up as an issue CS needs to fix.

Same here, capturing the LOC with all needles lineup, but when it gets about 3 miles from the runway..the plane starts going to the right and will ended up landing with my left main gear on the rwy and right gear on the dirt. The following airport with this issue:

VHHH (Imaginesim)
EGLL (another company)
KIAH (FSDteam)
RPLL (PacSim)

Only one airport that was perfect on ILS...KDFW (FSDreateam)

If the next version can fix this and that stupid clock. Then we have a complete B777 here.

I just did a landing using real weather with AS2012, and the 777 landed right in the centre of the runway (dare I say it went perfectly?).
I am not getting the same results with ASN. Recently, every landing using ASN has resulted in an off centre, or off runway landing. When the 777 v1.4 was first released, I am sure that I was not having problems with ASN and the 777.

I know I only use AS2012 for P3D, but that's because (1) ASN for P3D is in BETA and I did not sign up for it, and (2) I don't need to buy AS2012 for P3Dv2 as it already works with it!

I will do some more tests with the 777 with AS2012 and ASN and see how it goes, but I must admit that it isn't looking good for ASN. :(

That's why I have deleted REX. My reasoning behind it was transparent clouds but since it's been gone FSX has worked better than ever.

Never going back to addon weather.

Scenery is next on my list to go.  ;)

I know this is the FSX forum (I exclusively use P3D), but I think it's too quick/easy to lay the blame at ASN's feet. It wouldn't explain why every other payware aircraft I have don't suffer from the same issue. And, without naming the list (it's long and from a diverse set of developers), the CS 777 is the only aircraft I have this issue with. Important to note: even when ASN is not installed and thus not even running...

This is very strange indeed. From all my testing so far, I only have this problem when ASN IS running. If I'm not using ASN, or I am using AS2012, then the CS 777 captures the ILS & GS just fine and lands straight down the centre of the runway (or very close to it). If I am running ASN, it nearly always lands off the runway. :-/

But then someone mentioned earlier that they had the problem in p3d but not fsx.

I hate 'putters sometimes.  :)

@Pisitt

What at other airports? Can you align on the center line flying an ILS at other airports or is the problem at any/all airports?

I too am having similar issues with ILS landings, but this is at EVERY airport i land at (US and Europe anyway). It always lands left of center, but still on the runway. It makes no difference if weather is active (Opus) or not, even with clear skies, and no wind. This started when i updated the navigation data, through Navigraph, with 1505 and now 1506. It shows the marker at center on the display, but the aircraft drifts to the left as it gets closer the the runway threshold, while the marker on the MFD still shows at center.  Strange.

I see it's mentioned previously that newer data was 1 degree off or something like that. I simply wrote it off as the issue, and had read this in other post as well, but now it's starting to annoy me to no end. I want it centered....DAMMIT! ¦-P

I also notice this is quite an old post, but still some fairly recent activity (Ralph, Dec. 2014), and still without a solution. Has anybody figured it out?

P.S. - CS 777 + Freight Add-on v1.6

It is still an issue, so land manually if you can. Just gives you another skill test. ::)
