Title: 727 Open window bug
Post by cj95 on Aug 11th, 2014 at 2:58am
I've seen a few references to this issue, but no real solutions posted.

Basically when the VC of the -200 loads both pilots windows slide open and no amount of clicking or manipulation of the animations panel will change that fact.

Help?

I cant fly if I cant close the windows.

Every now and then I have had this happen, but I think that it was fixed when I reloaded the 727 - Alt > Aircraft > Select Aircraft > Enter

I use CTRL+SHIFT+A for the keyboard command for reloading the aircraft.

Before you ask: I rarely use CTRL+SHIFT+A to select the ADF in FSX, so I decided it was okay to use it to reload the aircraft. :D ;D

UPDATE:

I tried the reload aircraft option several times but without success.

As soon as the plane loaded, the windows would slide back open.

That wasn't the worst of it though:

Well it turns out that more was wrong than just the windows.

The buttons/knobs worked behind me at the engineers station, but up front nothing was clickable.   Not just non-functional, but actually non-reactive in that there was no flipping or twisting animation when clicked on.

I ended up deleting and reinstalling the whole mess and am happy to report that my buttons are back.

Additionally, somewhere along the way my windows work now so I suppose the reinstall fixed that too.

Thanks for the attention though.

Had you reported that the buttons/switches were not working, a reinstall would have been my recommendation.

What you had happening, was the failure of the product to recognise the Activation. Reinstalling, using the repair option, will often fix the problem, as it did in your case. ;)
