Title: Low Pressure lights Engine 2
Post by David Paul on May 23rd, 2014 at 11:42am
Hi all.  After flying for an hour or so, I am getting all 4 of the "Low Pressure" lights illuminating on the FE panel for engine 2 (the middle one on the panel).

I have never properly learned the correct procedures for this thing, I just have played and read the forum to get it going.  It doesn't seem to affect aircraft performance, but I'd like to know what I'm missing and get it right.

Thanks!

You need to give a little more information...

I think you mean FUEL low pressure lights, NOT engine low pressure lights.

My guess, you ran the tank dry!  :o

You must have had the cross feed valves open to supply fuel to the engine to keep it running.

Hi Lou!  Yeah, I meant the fuel low pressure lights.

All three tanks have plenty of fuel when this occurs.

I was on a flight from KORD to KLGA.  The lights came on just as I was getting onto the Milton STAR.  The plane continues to fly normally, that center engine for which the lights come on continues to operate normally.

It's just one of those things that I am missing when I am starting her up and getting ready for flight.

I have done a few more flights and watched for when the low pressure lights on the engine 2 fuel panel come on.  It is right around when it gets to 3600 lbs.  All three tanks have this same amount in them, but the lights only come on for number 2 engine.

I would guess this is a "bug" since you have too much fuel
for the low pressure light to illuminate.

I wonder if it is just happening to me or does everyone experience this?  I have Michael's mods installed.

It happens to me as well. I also have the Michael2 Mods. That I can live with.
Things like work arounds for basic cockpit sounds ( 4 years now) ,as one example, is a rather poor and embarrassing reflection on the developer. If they're putting out better quality products as of recent, and furthering a positive public perception, this plane should really be addressed. As should their 737. No money in addressing old issues but in the long run, it would really help to build a very damaged public perception, thus resulting in future sales that otherwise might not be there. You're welcome CS.

Thanks Brian.   I went ahead and backed up my current folders then installed clean versions just to see.  The lights also come on without Michael's mods.

Despite all it's issues, the 727 is pretty much my favorite plane.  I agree that it could really use a service pack.  I have the 737 as well and would love to see it get a few things fixed, but it is also a favorite of mine.

They did a really good job on the latest SP for the 777, so here's hoping these older gals get some much deserved attention!

Hi David,
As well, I have spent more hrs. in the 727 than any other AC I have. I have all the big name developers in jet AC, turbo props, GA, and lesser known ones as well. I always come back to the 727. Thankfully the community really stepped up on 727 with patches and fixes that really made a difference. If I hadn't had those to install, I probably would have trashed it along time ago. If the community can fix these issues without the tools and inside knowledge that the developer has, why doesn't CS do it? Again, I think in the long run, it would really help CS to go back and fix these planes, thus showing the community a commitment to their customers . Then, old customers would feel much better about buying newer products from Cs. How much revenue has been lost due to biz practices of old? CS will never know. I'm kind enough to write about it. Most just go away and spend their FS money elsewhere.  Once again, your welcome CS.
