Title: Are we going to expect...
Post by matsuman on Apr 25th, 2014 at 6:34am
...more updates or 1.3 is the final?

I have the "the other one" and i also enjoy this model. This model has potential and i hope more updates will be coming.

Thanks,

Better not be, it still has issues about approach and final that need to be addressed. ::)

Not to mention the 7000 feet per minute climb rate!

I like the plane, but I don't really fly it much because it has so many issues.  A little more work and it could be a real gem.

Agreed. The autoland too needs to be addressed. The autoland doesn't really work and the speeds are ridiculous especially when your trying to approach and it's very sensitive. I don't fly the 777 much either because getting it back on the ground safely with autoland will take a miracle. Captain sim, you make great airplanes and i continue to look forward to them, but please fix these issues for us so we can enjoy the product :D

Wayne, the PIC is responsible for the W&B of the aircraft.
My 3 CS airplanes 57-67-77 autoland great with a delay for the nose wheel to touch the runway.  :o
to stay current, pilots only makes one autoland every 90 days.
once the autoland is under control, it becomes so much easier to manual land the aircraft, and there is self satisfaction attached to landing the aircraft in all weather- within reason where it is better to divert.   ;D

CS gave you a quality airplane, but you still have to tune it to be
succesful.  good luck !

I see this complaint often.

I don't see why a 777 can't attain a 7000fpm initial climb rate.
It has an enormous wing area and even bigger engines, in fact I'd be disappointed if it couldn't do it with a light load.

Hi, I researched the climb of the 777 some time ago.
A heavy plane leaving for a long haul will avg 2000fpm to FL300 and stay  there in the initial CRZ , as the plane is lighter it will step climb to a max of FL390. Boeing is showing a graph of weight versus CRZ alt.
If you dont like the Vnav climb then set your own climb
I step climb 2000f every 1 1/2 hr - works good.  ;D
the last step up must yield at least 20 min of CRZ to be worth it, says Boeing  :o

I agree that the climb should be corrected :(

Well v1.4 is here now and I think it's a great improvement on v1.3. Download and install it and see for yourselves. ;D ;)

I agree with VNAV/LNAV definitely stable and the speed tape is fixed.
Where is the TOGA control left click on the MCP? Could not find it.

thanks,

From the v1.4 details page:

- A/T right click on MCP panel engages TO/GA thrust - added

It's RIGHT CLICK, not left click. ;)

Hi Mark:

Hope all is well - do you think this bird will work in p3d v2 - thank you.

Mark,

Just did a flight from KORD to SBGR (9.5 hrs) on UAL 200ER. The VNAV/LNAV did what it supposed to do. Also used the vertical speed climb function and worked like a charm. The autoland is perfect, very stable and i like the flare. In fact i even like the landing on this better than the "other one ..PMD".
So this version is pretty good, still need some work on cosmetic side like the PFD so i can see the slow speed tape indicator, enhance the ND to show the RNP/ANP indicator and what's up with the clock (still messing up).

Thanks,
Kin M.

I've never been able to get the 777 working in P3D. From everything I've read in the forum, you need to run the Migration Tool in Legacy Mode to get it to work in P3D. Unfortunately for me, P3D crashes every time I use Legacy Mode. :(

1.4 is a huge improvement on 1.3, but as you say, a bit more work to go to finish it off. I find it's a real joy to fly now. And yeah, the clock is still messed up, so let's hope it gets fixed in the next update. ;)
