Once the ILS and the Glide Slope are alive, and you are turning/have turned towards the runway, turn LOC Switch ON. If the the GS is just above the centre line, you can skip the LOC and just go straight to APP. Without APP, you will not be able to AUTOLAND (LAND3)! And don't forget to set the VREF speed in the APPROACH page on the CDU!
