Title: 767 sound upgrade question
Post by theguz on Dec 15th, 2013 at 10:32pm
I purchased a 767 sound upgrade but I don't know if it's going to work since the file names are different between this and CS.   the sound Folder is called sound.CF6 and has files like Cruise.wav, Spool.wav, etc which are different from the CS sound folder names of files.  So I don't see how replacing the folders would work.  How can I make this work?  anyone know?

I have the TSS 767 GE, PW & RR sounds, and they work fine. The cockpit sounds are in the FSX\Captain_Sim\767\sound folder and are not interfered with by the TSS sounds in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B767-300\sound.GE (sound.PW & sound.RR) folders. So they will work fine with the CS767. ;)

There was no install program.  It just said to move folder to a location.  How do I tell CS767 that the folder is there?  is there a config file to edit?  I notice there are some "air" files for each engine type.  Can anything be done?

1. Uninstall them to a folder away from FSX. For example, I installed the TSS - Boeing 767 GE Soundpack into J:\TSS Boeing 767 GE Sound

2. Inside that folder, is two more folders (sound.GE and Optimal Sound Settings), a READ THIS.txt file and an uninstall.exe file.

3. Go to you FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B767-300 and rename the sound.GE folder (I renamed mine sound.CSGE).

4. Now copy/cut the TSS sound.GE folder and paste it in FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B767-300 folder. You're done. There is no need to modify the  aircraft.cfg as the CS 767 GE's are already using the sounds from a folder named sound.GE.

Just repeat the above steps for the TSS - Boeing 767 PW Soundpack and TSS - Boeing 767 RR Soundpack.

Note: The J: Drive is where my FSX is installed.
