Okay. All that info was based on what I had read, and heard, before I bought the Academic License. Not only that, I was not even sure I could buy the Academic License because I did not "qualify". Then later on, I saw that they had changed the "qualifications" for the Academic License, which allowed me to "qualify". I think has changed again, but I'm not really sure. I can't point you to where I read all that, I wish I could. It was 18 months ago, and I can't remember where on the internet, or in the LM Forums I saw them. It was because of all the searching that I did, that if I was going to get it, I didn't want to pay $200, $50 was better, especially because I wasn't sure I would like it. Doing the math, you are right, $199 - ($49.95 x 2) = $99.10, so yes I would be better off (by $99.10). But..... IF the licensing IS the way I said it is, IF P3D ever gets to v5, I will have to have spent $49.95 x 5 = $249.75. If I buy it next time for $199 + $49.95 = $248.95. So I'm still better off (by $0.80). :) If it ever gets to V6, then I'll be $50.75 ($0.80 + $49.95) better off, because I won't need to buy it again. :D I know it's a lot of IF's, BUT's and MAYBE's in there, but I'm willing to chance it. ;) |
