Hi Folks,
It's been a while since I came here last and I guess I just forgot how to get to the freeware addons for the CapSim weapons pack. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

I thought it was in a sticky on this section but if it is, I don't see it. Also, I see that 'Hani' has developed some additional explosion effects but again, I don't know where those are either.

They weren't in his "New Effects" topic section,so does anyone know where they are, (assuming that the location is different than the 'freeware addons location)?

Hi Mark, I have a question about the weapons package. You have helped me before on a number of things. I noticed that for no reason that I can think of, my weapons for fsx has stopped working.
 This is what it is doing, When I turn on the panel it turns on but the heads up display is gone and there is no weapon count for any of the guns or missiles. It is doing this in all the planes I have added the weapons to. It is even doing the same thing in the default F-18 that it was installed on originally with the weapons program. Let me know if you have any ideas on what is happening.                     Thanks, Dan

Is your OS in Vista, Win7 or Win8? If it is...
1. Did you install Weapon or FSX using the "Run as administrator" option? If not, then it might not have installed properly.
2. Is FSX is installed in the default location (C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86))? If it is, then it might need to "Run as administrator" too.
Regardless of OS...
3. Maybe your Anti Virus software saw the installer as a threat when you installed it so it was blocked from being installed properly. I can have this problem with Avast (free version), so I have learned to disable the shields when I'm installing anything on my computer.

 My pc is a windows7. After I posted I got to thinking and I may have figured out what caused the problem. The last time the weapons worked I was doing a multiplayer with my brother. I was firing shells and missiles and it worked fine but since then I have had this problem. Maybe the Capt Sim weapons don't like being used in the multiplayer mode.
 I am thinking I may have to an uninstall and do a reinstall. I wanted to get your train of thought first though.
  When I installed the weapons package I did "run as Administator" and it worked just fine before I used it in the multiplayer mode.       Dan

Although Weapon for FSX doesn't always work to well in multiplayer, I doubt that is the reason it isn't working now. A reinstall could fix it, so that's certainly worth trying. ;)
