Title: Aileron Roll
Post by Reinhardt Massyn on Jul 19th, 2013 at 10:05am
Hi Guys,

I need some serious help here please... as my eyes are killing me now :) hehehe. This is now my 4th flight in the 772, and the second time I get this issue.

After takeoff, going to LNAV and VNAV, the aircraft is struggling to keep the wings level. It is rocking left and right constantly trying to maintain level flight. Nothing gets that stopped. I tried various factors, but can't pinpoint what is creating this issue where the aircraft cant keep the wings level. Not even on HDG or HDG HOLD can it remain stable on the ailerons.

Any ideas?   :D

Thanx Guys!

In the aircraft.cfg for all CS777 models, change this:

[Custom Autopilot]
AP_Roll_speed=3.91
AP_Roll_window=5.7
AP_Roll_controlstep=2825

to this:

[Custom Autopilot]
AP_Roll_speed=4
AP_Roll_window=7
AP_Roll_controlstep=1500

See if that helps.

I tapped my yoke to one side and it quit. ;)

The only time it happens to me is if my MS Sidewinder FF2 suddenly falls to the left or right. So I disable the joystick shortly after takeoff until shortly before landing. ;)

Hi Everyone,

So, I changed the A/P settings. all is good. No roll. But now, sometimes, the odd flight, it is like the autopilot is now very 'lazy'. It overshoots every turn, struggles to turn, poor aileron control.

I am trying to figure out if there is a common denominator for when that happens.

Any ideas?

Cheers!  8-)
