Title: H80i Help?
Post by aaboeing on Jun 28th, 2013 at 1:48am
I've been having trouble with my new h80i cooler. The temps are at least 5C greater than my hyper 212+. Currently in fs, temps are always +60C and when idle it's 38C - 45C. Anyone who has experienced these problems, please help. Btw I've put new thermal paste on as well as remounted and added rubber washers for better contact to CPU.

Thanks
Alex

Temps are not too different to mine. Mind you, it's dependent on how high I've overclocked my CPU (of which I usually go no higher than 42GHz). As long as I can keep the temp below 70C when OC'ed, which mine does, I'm happy.

As far as I know, these CPU's are supposed to be able to cope with 80C - 90C without any problems, but who wants the temps that high?

Aren't these temps a bit high though? Besides I checked temps at stock and auto overclock and they are roughly the same.

I got the H100, i idle between 29c and 34c depending on the core and room temp.

One of the biggest things that pushes up temps is voltage, a lot of people just set a voltage which is normally on the highish side and overclock to that voltage but you should always try to lower the voltage if possible.

I must admit that the temperatures that I mentioned are from back in early Autumn when the weather was warmer. It's winter now, my central heating has packed up, so the house is a lot colder and I'm waiting for the repair man to come here to fix it. The CPU temperatures are also cooler now, but I have to sit at the computer with a jacket on to keep warm. :(

I believe the voltage is fairly low since it is on uefi bios overclock so it does it automatically. I may consider the h100 however idk if my case could support 4 fans unless there is an adapter to the power cables. I have a Phantom 410 in case anyone wanted to know. And sorry to hear about your heater not working Mark.

My case wouldn't support the H100i, so I had no option but to get the H80i. Going by the reviews I read about it, it's supposed to be very good. So I bought one. ;)

Yippee! the repair man is gear and he is replacing the central heater as I type. ;D But I still have to wear a jacket until he is finished. It's 12C inside the house this morning. Brrrr. :(

Alright, so everything is fixed now. I guess it had a bad pump or something but now I have replaced the h80i with another and my temps couldn't be better :)
Idle 33-37 and load 40-60 depending on game, feisty around 50-60 :D

Replaced it with what? Another H80i or something else?

I'm glad you got it working again though. ;D

Yeah I went back to where I bought it and exchanged it for another h80i and now it works great with fs temps at 65 and under :)
