Title: Migrating CS130 from FS9 to FSX - Texture problems
Post by HB-HFK on Apr 29th, 2013 at 11:40pm
Hello,
I am migrating my flightsimulation from FS9 to FSX. Today it was CS130's turn. I purchased the CAPTAIN SIM - C-130 X-PERIENCE ALL-IN-ONE PACK for FSX, today vis Simmarket. Installation went fine, everything seemingly OK, plane flies beautifully so far, as it did in FS9.

In the past, I had a livery of the CS / FS9 C-130E done by Blackrose in the colors of our VA (humanitarian flights section), Air Geneva.

I have tried to manually migrate the FS9 textures into FSX. The results are passable but not satisfactory.

I used the traditional technique of placing the AG textures in the corresponding C-130 file and adding the usual text in the aircraft.cfg file.

Result: all in all passable but clearly with some issues; some of the parts of the fuelage remain lit as in broad daylight while other parts darkened in accordance with dusk and dawn lighting. Night lighting seems OK, the whole plane is dark.

At dawn and dusk, I have an issue with the main exit door that stays "brightly lit" while adjacent parts of the fuselage are (correctly) darker in sync with the light of day.

Finally, the 3D textures of the front panel are missing (gauges are OK). The gauges stand out against a black background.

I am at a loss how to fix this. Can it be fixed? Must I ask Blackrose to re-do a complete set of textures for FSX. I'd rather avoid this if at all possible.

Can you please help me? I can provide additional screenshots if needed.

I appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you in advance

Best Regards,

Kevin
