Title: VNAV and LNAV
Post by Shermann on Mar 9th, 2013 at 3:33am
HI Guys1

I installed the version 1.1 on top of 1.0 and instead of improoving i had huge problems. The first one is that VNAv still dont work at all but the main problem is about the LNAV. I take off i engage autopilot I engage LNAV and VNAV With VNAV the plane climb like a rocket and the speed doesnt rise and LNAV doesnt follow the rute make a turn in a big angle making the plane fly upside down. On 5 flight all 5 the plane crashed after take off..Any idea?

Thanks
Alfredo

VNAV and LNAV are not a problem for me, it took around 20 min to make it work correctly. The biggest problem with the autopilot so far is the ILS alignment.

I only have trouble with the ILS on the 300

I had the same problem when I installed 1.1 over 1.0+VNAV patch, Today I reinstalled 1.0 fresh, then 1.1 and I'm getting better results. I'm flying a long distance flight now FAOR (FAJS with CS NAV DB) to KATL (Which is a Dela Flight) which is 7492nm (8400+ miles) and so far so good. My climbout to FL340 (FAOR elevation is 5000+ft) took 14 minutes, which is in line with climbouts I've seen on Flightaware, for a 200LR.  I tracked vertical speed which ranged from a high of 3800fpm on initial climb, to 1200-1400fpm closer to cruise. For an average of  a VS of 2071fpm. So if you installed 1.1 over the VNAV patch, try installing it over a fresh 1.0 install. The only issue I see now is calculated remaining fuel at destination. 91KLB now and climbing which I think is a bit much, with a max load (Fuel and Payload). It's a 16 hour flight (I'm testing endurance) and I'm only about 1 hour out, so I still got a long way to go.

Edit: Flight over - I'm getting the same rocking problem I got with the previous installation! Oh well, back to 1.0+VNAV patch, which has been very stable!!! Here's a full flight video I did with it. Note the problems on approach was caused by my video recording program (GameCam) not the 777.

I thought that was a great flight you used everything it had... I noticed upon
you landing that brake bug gets stuck so you can't roll out to exit the rwy.

If you have problems with the aircraft then report them. Saying the aircraft is terrible will get you no where.

Well, considerating that we are on a really early version (1.1), I think it works fine. Sure it needs more work, just be patient. Good things come with time.

Hi ! I installed 1.1 over 1.0. with the 200lr 120000 pounds of fuel and 370000 pounds of ZFW from FL 300 to FL370 climbed in VNAV at 4750 feet per min and on cruise the plane move roll on right and left.

Well with 1.0 and 1.1 installed i have the problems to start a flight all is ok till i start the take ff roll once i take off it is a mess. If i flyin bad weather th plane crash  seems that the pitot heat still doent work. Then with As2012 it is a huge problem! I take off the speed drop the plane climb stall and crash ! Always , Always , Always. Maybe i cant really pilot this plane:D

Mine works fine with AS2012. No rocking/rolling left or right at all. It's even steady when flying the ILS approach using Autoland. :-/

I, too, have had smooth flights with no rocking or pitot tube freezing  :-?

I haven't had the pitot tubes freeze up either, but that's because I use SHIFT+H to make sure they don't. ;D

Hi Folks:

If I understand correctly there was a short-lived VNAV fix available after V1.0, but in the official V1.1, the VNAV issue has re-appeared.

But the Sales Page Details for V1.1 currently displays:

Service Pack 1.1
The 777 Captain (777-200) Service Pack 1.1 is available and includes the following new features and enhancements:
- VNAV fixed
- ....

And, w.r.t. LNAV, for the current/official V1.1, has anyone observed/proved any rocking behavior (either during CRZ or ILS)? I assume that V1.1 is trouble-free in this regard.

Thanks, in advance, for your patience and clarifications!

Hello CS,

What i reported in the topic i opened yesterday was faced after 1.1, is there any program that might be affecting 1.1 patch? and how to fix it?
to mention, i always use opus and rex+od during my flights.
