Title: PAINT KIT! Question
Post by Lost in Isaan on Feb 21st, 2013 at 12:55pm
Being the "AMATEUR" painter having a csB25 at OZx and a few A2A B377 over on AVSIM I decided to bite the bullet and buy an upgrade to PhotoShop CS so as to work on the CS B777.

Where are the wings?

Unfortunately there will be no wings in Repaint Kits because in the vast majority of liveies they are the same. If needed you may make lettering in DDS.

Thank you Tanya.

As I have said many times I like a clean aircraft and cockpit without to much "grime and weathering". Persistence and a day of experimenting on the two files has seen me converting the DDS to BMP then PDS and manually cleaning up some of the 'grime' but NOT ALL commercial airline liveries use the basic CS wing default.

The only problem with the paint on the wings is that the wings are symmetrical in their wear pattern. This is not realistic. If the wings were in a paint kit then painters could change the wear on one of the wings so it does not match the other.

Getting the hang of it now.

Just washed the original wing panels with a coat of ‘Off White’ (240,240,240) at an opacity of 40% to blend the underside wings perfectly with Marcelo Veneziale’s fictional QANTAS livery leaving just a wisp of grime.

Had to do a lot more work on the top removing some of the grime prior to paint and relabeling all the NO STEP signs etc on a dedicated layer.

By using slightly different recipes I’m able to modify most of my fleets wings accordingly.

The grime can be altered on each wing to remove the symmetrical effect.

It definitely would have been easier with a paint kit base pack.
