Title: B767 engine gen fails
Post by M.Schouten on Jan 23rd, 2013 at 9:17am
Hi,
After having done all the checks and preperation (as far it is possible in the CS767) I started up her engines. Normally the engine generators would take over the power supply job from the APU gen, or what ever generator was used. What my problem is that the engine gen does not take over the task!
I know a solution, and that is load another plane before loading the CS767. But the CS767 is already at v1.5! Can somebody help?

Thanks for in advance.

If when you first load the 767, you see 000 in the MACH/IAS Indicator and 00000 on the Altitude Hold Indicator, then reload the 767 before doing everything.

Recently though, I have found that if I don't reload the 767, I can get it going. I also noticed that the engine generators did not take over. All I do to get them to work is click on the GEN DRIVE DISC Switches on the O09. ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL (see the image below).

As you can see, the Left GEN DRIVE DISC Switch is OFF, while the right one is ON, so the EICAS displays a warning for the L GEN OFF.
So just open the switch guard and click on the button to connect your engine generators.

Another thing that I find with this fault (bug?) is that the Heading Preference Switch is also set to TRUE instead of HDG REF NORM. I have heard that if it is left on TRUE, that the 767 will have problems flying the FMC Route. Fortunately, I have always set it to HDG REF NORM before leaving the gate.

Thanks for a quick reply! I will try your method. But still, the CS767 is at v1.5 already, and you have to disconnect the gen before they can be activated.. Those gen drive disc gaurds are not there for some reason, they are there so they can not be pressed accidently. I will try your method, and I will try re-installing the CS767. I do enjoy the CS767 because if its looks and its daily use operation simulations. Just so pitty that the CS767 isn't really ready, it looks pretty spot on, exept the winglets, but I can imagine how hard it is to proper model it.

No. IF I reload the 767 when I see the 000 in the IAS/MACH Indicator and 00000 in the Altitude Hold Indicator (on the MCP), then everything works like it should. I have no need to touch the GEN DRIVE DISC switches because the engine generators take over.
