Title: Unable to open C130 in FSX
Post by overload on Dec 23rd, 2012 at 3:46pm
I  bought the C130 all in pack recently. the install went fine, aircraft appears with all the variants in the FSX select aircraft menu, but if I select  it I get another version of the select aircraft menu, but totally blank. I can press "OK" or Cancel, and that sends me to a dialogue box that says "Aircraft initialization has failed, you will now be placed in visualization-only mode" once I click "close" I'm CTD'd.
I've re-downloaded file, usual precautions, UAC off, Virus checker off, explorer not chrome, run as admin,
I bought the 737 and variants at the same time, no problem with those, I also run the 727/707 without problems.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Eugene

Reinstall the C-130 X-perience and see if that gets it working correctly. If not, use the Extended Download Service to get a new installation file, as the one you are using may be corrupt.

Check-in to Your Profile > Product (C-130 X-perience All-in-One Pack) > Extended Download Service > Get New Links

Thanks Mark, tried both those suggestions already, but no luck. I ran the re-install via the "repair or uninstall menu, using repair,  I'll try uninstall followed by a new download re-install next.

Just some feedback, tried the suggestions mentioned, but I've never got it to load, it always crashes to desktop.
Can anyone recall this happening to others, I've searched the post but found nothing.
I bought it in the sale, so not a huge amount of money, but it's annoying. I've got a lot of payware aircraft on my sim, inc Cap Sim 707/727/737, but never had this problem except this C130, very strange...

Ps I'd post a screen shot, but not sure how to do it, The "choose file function finds pic ok, but the insert image button just copies to the post, but no pic appears, am I missing a step?

If the image size is under 200KB, you can "attach" an image to you post by browsing your computer for it:

Thanks Mark,
I can do those 2 steps fine, at the moment I have K: Capt Sim1.png in my browse window, but if I select "insert image" 1st, and browse for file second, or browse for file 1st, and insert image 2nd, all I get is:
in the preview, no pic. I'm assuming that the preview should show the pic?
I've tried explorer and chrome, but can't get a pic to show in preview...
Not a big deal, had to put the C130 in the "too difficult" pile anyway, shame, it looked like a great aircraft...

Once you click on browse, your image is ready to be uploaded to the Captain Sim website. Post your message, and the image is uploaded at the same time.

IF you preview your reply/post after using Browse to attach it, but before posting it, you will need to browse for it again or it will not be attach to you reply/post.

You only use the to attach an image to your reply/post if they are stored in a place on the internet like Photobucket, Imageshack, or some place like them.

Hope this helps.
