Title: Rate of descent
Post by Peje on Dec 18th, 2012 at 6:24pm
Hello!

Just bought the 737-200.

Among more or less annoying bugs, here is one:
In descent, to maintain speed, the VS must be increased to an unrealistic value.
It's like some ghost spoiler was raised.

Somebody with the same problem?

Not sure this has any effect as I do not have any descent issues. The FDE is not even in the ball park.
There is a topic about being overpowered and the engine inlet are far to big for the size of JT8D. Try changing the inlet to 9.6 and see if your mystery drag is gone.

That might be the result of some tweaks I made.

I' ll check about it and report back.

Too bad, I am not allowed to post links in this forum.

I made dramatic changes in both the air and cfg files.

The result seems quite positive and advises would have been appreciated.

The files are loaded in mediafire. Is there some way to share?

I think you need 10 posts for the extra features. So please post some 7 funny things.  ;D But, wait, don't try to sell us watches, convector ovens or pharmaceutics, ok? I already have enough of those items.  :o :-/

By the way, did you already try some of the FDE mods from this thread? http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1359400401

I don't sell nothing.
And yes I did try other mods.
However many parameters deserve improvment.

One example:
Most of the time, once moving, idle thrust is  more than sufficient to taxi.

An other one:
Pitch trim indicator should be on the green band prior to take off.

At idle thrust the rate of descent is way to high. ( I didn't fix completely this one.) Etc...Etc...

Well.... I just wanted to help. The aircraft is fine enough to afford it.

May be in an other life!!!!!

I guess this is because you can't post links, but nobody is saying that you do sell stuff. Spammers come in here all the time and try to "sell stuff", so these measures were put in to prevent them from doing that. This system works well, because most human spammers can't be bothered to do 10 posts just so they can include links to their rubbish.

Besides that, you CAN type in a web address and we will just have to copy and paste it into our browsers to access them. Simple really. ;)

Oops, I think that came in the wrong way.  :-[ I was just joking about the spam folks sometimes arriving here in the CS forums. It's because of them why this 10 post limit is in place. As Mark said.

So if you don't sell ovens, houses or even other humans, you are welcome.  :) By this, posting some FDE mod is fine. I just thought that the other mods already put the 737 in the right ballpark. By the way, only 6 posts to go and you are unlocked or whatever they call it.

Here is the ident for the modified fde: ?0kp2q1q9jyokf
It was uploaded to mediafire. I suppose you know how to access this site.

While far from being perfect there is quite some improvment in the aircraft behavior.
Comments are welcomed.

You can paste the link into your post, but you can't add the [url] [/url] code to it and nor will it appear as a clickable link, but it will be there and we can copy and paste the link into the browser address  manually and open it ourselves. ;)
