Title: B757 Post by JohnB777 on Oct 27th, 2012 at 1:59pm
When I takeoff in the captain sim B757, within 20 seconds or so of takeoff, the aircraft shakes violentley then stops and continues to fly normally. This has once resulted in stall. It happens a bit on the 757 freighter but not much and not at all on the B767.
ANY HELP? |

It's probably because the speed is too low and it is almost stalling. Once I takeoff, raised the gear and started to get a good climb, if the VS is too high when I press CMD, VNAV and LNAV, the 757 speed drops way below the setting I have entered in the IAS/MACH Indicator. The 757 can come close to falling out of the sky when that happens.
The best thing to do after taking off, is to lower the nose so that the speed climbs to about 180-200 knots, THEN press the CMD, VNAV and LNAV. |

In a real 757 this shouldn't be a problem really unless you have completely insane climb rate, from all the airliners this one probably climbs by far the best, maybe 777 coming near behind.

Alright, Thanks everyone, I'll try takeing off with less pitch. I'll tell what happens after that.

You're right! Before I was lazy enough not to even look at my airspeed indicator, which was why I kept losing control and stalling. Now I make sure the speed is always above at least 150 knots.

Hi, John. If it happens again, perhaps post a screenshot of the situation. You can use this free service to upload them and then post the link. http://imageshack.us/ Or pick any other free picture hoster. The forum screenshot attachment needs some 10 posts or so.
It's easier to judge the pictures, hence the tip. Which version of the 757 are you using by the way? And a side note. Please make sure to post the future threads in the corresponding sections. For every plane there is one, even for every sim version. This makes sense as the folks then can find the common answers and solutions more easily. :) Find the 757 FSX section here. http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=757fsx And the 767 one here. http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=gx767 |
