Title: VNAV Autopilot
Post by Mric29 on Apr 25th, 2012 at 4:32pm
First, I'm sorry for my poor English spoken. I don't understand how to use PDS to control VNAV with autopilot... could someone help me?  :-?

It doesn't operate with the Autopilot. They are currently 2 separate instruments.
Not sure if it will in a future update or not. I use it to provide info on TO, CLB, CRZ, etc...

Agreed, I've been flying for 20 years, still to this day I know many pilots who won't touch VNAV on climb and especially on arrival because no matter what you program into the FMC, you rarely fly a full STAR into an airport and get vectored to final.. Either v/s mode or level change for speed protection and HDG select.. What I've experienced is the advanced automation has made manual flying much easier, and ANY airline pilot should be able to handle the aircraft manually in all situations if something goes wrong..

Thank you for your answers!
So with AP engaged we can only  drive climb or descent manually, that's right?
