Title: cockpit dome lights fix
Post by SoulFlight on Apr 25th, 2012 at 2:32pm
I found out that the dome lights of the cockpits were badly misplaced....thats why they wont work.

Here is my fix, just copy that lights-section in your 737-200 aircraft.cfg and overwrite the old one.

[LIGHTS]
light.0 = 1,   5.10,   0.00, -7.20, fx_beaconb
light.1 = 1,   3.10,  -0.10,  6.35, fx_beaconh
light.2 = 7,  33.60, -1.50, 3.50, cs737_vclightwhi
light.3 = 10, 33.40,  1.60, 3.30, cs737_vclightwhi
light.4 = 8,   2.00,  -14,  -1.00, cs737_vclightwhi
light.5 = 8,   2.00,   14,  -1.00, cs737_vclightwhi
light.6 = 9,  33.00,   0.00, -5.00, cs737_ww
light.7 = 9,  -6.87,   2.00, -4.50, cs737_ww
light.8 = 9,  -6.87,  -2.00, -4.50, cs737_ww

I will provide a full shockwave 3d lights version soon....

Our fault. Thats because the VC has been moved (aligned with an exterior) in the 1.0.
On the list for 1.1

That one is for shockwave 3d-lights owners. I wasnt able to get the beacons right because they somehow move when panning views, but all the others look quite good.
Also, on every wing tip there are 2 nav lights, but since FSX has a limit of 18 lights per aircraft, I placed only one of them.

[LIGHTS]
light.0 = 1,   5.00,   -0.20, -7.20, fx_shockwave_beaconh_l

The CS 737-200 doesn't have logo lights. AFAIK most real world 737-200s are not equipped with logo lights but some do.

I know, this is because I am not that familiar with entering the right values in the panel.cfg so the taxilight beam vanishes when the nose gear is retracted. Also, as stated in the manual, the light does not automatically turn off when the gear is retracted, so anyways the outcome would be unrealistic. I decided to leave the nose gear light alone because of that.

Another issue is the light cast of the beacon lights. On my 727-100, the same light effect casts a red shine to the aircraft fuselage, it does not on the 737, for some reason. I will make a new config as soon as CS releases v1.1, because right now it would not make much sense.

Taxi lights are in the model.
And there are no logo lights on the real 737-200.

The logo lights that you have seen on the -200 series was an addon
after the fact. Some carriers were updating the -200 long after the production stopped using parts from later model 737's.
