Title: Quiet on Exterior view
Post by boeing247 on Apr 16th, 2012 at 4:48am
I recently finally got around to installing the BUFF on my new computer and took it for a test flight today. However, when I advanced the throttles, there seemed to be very little sound in the exterior view. Sound was fine (and rather loud) in the VC, but the engines sounded nearly silent outside. What could be causing this?

Thanks,
boeing247

Anyone? Is this actually a problem, or is it meant to act like this?

Mine isn't very loud, but I don't really know if it is too quite. :-/

Do you know what sound file(s) is/are responsible for the exterior engine sounds?

My guess is that one or more of these groups of WAV files, are the sounds files you are after:

Fan1
Fan1AX
Fan2
Fan2AX
Fan3
Fan3AX
Fan4
Fan4AX

Idle1
Idle1AX
Idle2
Idle2AX
Idle3
Idle3AX
Idle4
Idle4AX

Power1
Power1AX
Power2
Power2AX
Power3
Power3AX
Power4
Power4AX

Whine1
Whine1AX
Whine2
Whine2AX
Whine3
Whine3AX
Whine4
Whine4AX

They can be found in the [FSX]\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B-52\sound folder.
I don't know enough about the sound.cfg file to know how or what might need changing. :(
