As I fly from airport to airport the only way I can be 100% I will be departing again is to leave one engine spinning.  I usually leave #3 going and the APU because its the first in the start procedure.  Doing this I havent had the other engines not start.  I have had to abort flights in the past because I have shut all the engines down and been unable to get them restarted........Not sure why, I have a 68 step laminated start checklist that I use everytime to ensure I am doing the same thing everytime.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.  Kind of frusterating.

What do you use to turn off an engine?  Fuel shut off?  Prop control?

The condition levers are your shut down for the C-130.   Don't pull them all the way back just enough for the engine to register a shut down and you should be able to restart.   There has been some issues with the engine starting on FSX version.    I use the CH Throttle Quadrant as my condition levers and Saitek switch panel to start my engines in FSX.  

CTRL+F1 Should be enough to put the propeller condition levers in the fuel cutoff position. CTRL+F4 to put open them again.

I have never done a flight, shut down, restart and fly again before, so I may not be much help. :(

Keep in mind that the start process is variable at best. Some times you hold the button till it starts, some times only just a fast click to start other times hold for a few seconds then release to start. When you restart after a full shut down try all the different techniques before you give up on the start.

Another thing I have found is the plane is sensitive to the amount of memory remaining. As the reserve memory goes down the ability to start the engines seems to diminish. I always reboot the computer to insure maximum available memory before starting the C130.
