There are no cockpit sound at all. No sounds that are in Captain Sim/757/sound folder play. Tried to change these values to 0 no use.
SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=1 SoundOffWhenSimIsPaused=1 SoundOffWhenSimDialogIsOpen=1 4.4 worked ok. |

Since the update to 4.5, I have found that the sounds work fine without the need to change the sound.ini file.
Try reinstalling the 757 using the repair option. If using Vista or Windows 7, make sure to run the installer as an administrator. Mark |

I can confirm, no sound modification needed with v4.5. They work fine for me with no .cfg edits.

Your dll.xml file should contain two 757 related entries.
<Launch.Addon> <Name>Captain Sim Menu</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b757.menu.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Captain Sim 757 Sound</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Captain_Sim\757\cs.sound.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon>
As you see, one is the cs.sound.dll and if it's missing and therefore doesn't get loaded, you will miss the sounds. So maybe check the dll.xml file if it was altered with the installation of 4.5. If not, some missing rights may have prevented this step. Please also check if the cs.sound.dll is in that Captain_Sim folder. |

CooIP you're a genius, man! I really didn't have those lines about cs sound in dll.xml, Added them as you suggested and a miracle, cockpit's alive. Don't know why these lines didn't aded automatically after installing. Because menu lines were on their place. Anyway. Thanks again.

I have no sounds either in 4.5. Where is this dll.xml file? I can't find it anywhere. :(

That's C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX for the guys with Win7 or Vista.
Please make a back of that file first, in case you mix something up, just revert back. |

Hi!
I haven't got these sounds, too. And I am wondering that I also haven't got the cs.sound.dll in Captain_Sim/757/ Folder. Can someone please post the code which is in this file. I also tried making those changes in sound.ini file, no sucess. Thanks! Florian |

It might be that your Anti Virus software considers it a threat. Turn your Anti Virus software off first (or disable the shields if you can), then reinstall the 757 Base Pack (csp751_4600.exe).

Hi.
I bought this product as a box in 2009 at the local reseller in my city. But because Captainsim doesn't care for those people, I haven't got this update. I also tried to contact Captainsim directly. It seems like they don't need to waste their time with those stupid people who buy boxes instead their downloads. But thanks for your tip anyway. |

Had you mentioned that you had the another company Boxed product, my reply to your problem would have been different. I would have recommended that you try this - Go to <FSX root>\Captain_Sim\757 and open the sound.cfg file with notepad, and change the following lines (right at the top) from this:
[Common] Refresh.Time=10 Sound.Directory=Captain_Sim\757\sound SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=1 SoundOffWhenSimIsPaused=1 SoundOffWhenSimDialogIsOpen=1 SoundOffWhenSimSoundIsOff=1 to this: [Common] Refresh.Time=10 Sound.Directory=Captain_Sim\757\sound SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=0 SoundOffWhenSimIsPaused=0 SoundOffWhenSimDialogIsOpen=0 SoundOffWhenSimSoundIsOff=0 And see if that helps. |
