Hi i dont know weather i should get the 707 captain or not  :-? would you guys recommend it?

I would recommend. She's a wonderful airplane to fly. :)

If you like steam gauges, this one is the best rendition out there. No other plane (from my experience) gives you those graphics and feel of a old "jet-age" liner.
What it takes from you is some will to e. g. learn to live with that old and lazy AP and to use VORs or the later INS to navigate, while checking all the flight engineer workload too, like watching the fuel setup and calculating some speeds with the help of the manuals and tables.

This isn't the plane for the guys flying the FMCs (which Lou calls "sissy stuff") only and not willing to learn some basics. But don't worry, you can grow on her.
At the current price, the 707 is a no-brainer for steam lovers.

Ok, then go 707 or B-52 Driver for tons of steam gauges and since you already have the 767 either go 757 too or wait for the 777 (Captain) to arrive.
Seems like we share preferences then, I may have a steam gauge bias but I tend to buy all the sissy stuff too.  :D
I can recommend using the older planes with the Civa INS to get a full load of old school "new age" instruments to operate.

If you haven't bought it already, don't hesitate to do it.  CS has done a great job with this one. Remember, it was the 707 that ushered in the jet age and changed the world in which we now take for granted. So you'll be participating in a piece of world history.  To get it right the work load is a hand full and takes time and effort to learn,  buts its the process of learning it all is what makes it fun for me. And the learning never seems to stop.  All the fellow 707 enthusiasts in the forum are very helpful.

I have just completed my first test landing in the 707, and it was superb. Such a graceful aircraft to hand fly. It came down right on the centreline, and the touchdown was perfect!

I did a flight from Melbourne to Nadi overflying Sydney. It was a great flight and I had a very strong (60-90knots) tailwind all the way from Sydney to Nadi, when I was over the ocean. As I was coming into land I encountered a very strong and gusty crosswind (probably close to the maximum allowed). I am coming in to land, with a significant crab angle on the old girl, and right at the last minute I lined her up on the runway. At that exact moment, the tires kissed the runway. I was stunned, it was as perfect a landing as any I have ever done in any aircraft. I love it.

The 707 is my favorite Captain Sim aircraft. I love all the others too, but I put more hours into the 707.

Even before I bought the CS 707 I was a huge 707 fan. I grew up in Seattle in the 60's and remember driving down Interstate 5 and seeing all the early Boeing prototype down on Boeing Field. Boeing had the 707, 727, 737 and later the 747 all lined up in front of a hangar facing the freeway, all in their yellow and brown prototype colors. The 747 was done in white with red trim. I became a huge Boeing fan.

I've always been a Boeing fan too i love the 767 the 777 and the 737. Of what they dont make anymore the 727 and  707

Post 1.3 bug list    got some comments? - Believe it or not, it's on page 2. ;)

Did they get the old-style navigation lined out, where it would follow a flight plan, and switch back and forth on the legs automatically? In other words, I flew her for awhile when she was brand new, and I seem to remember some difficulties. I am less interested in the CIVA than in that original, unique autopilot method. (I kind of burned out on CIVA in Ready for Pushback 747.)

After I had problems with the Doppler navigation, I switched to the CIVA INS. That was back at v1.0/1.1! By v1.3, the Doppler Navigation is much better. It still turns left/right when you are changing the heading of the next Leg, but it never goes uncontrollable (at least not for me). INS is better (IMO), but the Doppler Navigation is a lot of fun when flying overseas (well not just overseas, everywhere). We cheat because we have a map, and I went a step further by adding the default GPS 500 to it. :D ;D

Yeah. The 707, 737 are my two favourites with the 767 not very far behind. If the 737 was a touch better than it is, like the PDCS working correctly and actually controlling the EPR, then it would probably be #1, but at the moment, the 707 and 737 are equally #1. :D

Yes highly recommended!

A truly vintage simulation. With steam gauges, VOR navigation, Doppler navigation and if you want to download the freeware Civa INS Carousel, then INS as well.

The aircraft graphical quality is superb.

The 707 is a joy to fly and puts you back in the era of early jet transportation.

Now with the addition of full support from the Multi Crew Experience guys, we have a fully crewed three man flight deck. Fly with Radar Contact v4 and the MCE first officer (or third officer if you like) can work all the ATC for you as well as perform his/her own duties) ;)
