Hi guys

Just purchased and installed the XL FA-18 and have a problem...

I have no VC showing at all, and the 2D panel shows ONLY a HUD - no panel.

I've checked my default FA-18 and it's fine.

Any ideas?

You have to have the Acceleration Expansion Pack because both XLoad aircraft use the VC from the Acceleration F/A-18. Without it, no VC.
From the System requirements page for XLoad:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

   * - PC with 1.5 GHz equivalent or higher processor
   * - 256 MB of system RAM
   * - 64 MB DirectX 9 compatible video card
   * - 500 Mb of free space on the MS FS hard drive
   * - Microsoft® Windows® XP SP2 / Vista
   * - Microsoft® Flight Simulator X Acceleration*
   * - Internet access (for installation/ re-installation)


Please note, we are unable to support technical issues appeared on systems that do not conform to the minimum system requirements.

* - XLoad can be installed on Microsoft® Flight Simulator X. But the following limitations apply:

     - No FSX Acceleration F/A-18 sound
     - No FSX Acceleration F/A-18 VC
     - No FSX Acceleration F/A-18 2D Panels

I have the Accelleration Pack installed!

I purchased it EXACTLY for this purpose just the other day.

Hi dougal.

Open the model.d (FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_FA-18D\Model.d) folder and see what you have in there.

You should have the following three files:

FA-18_Interior.mdl     <-- this is the interior of the default Acceleration FA-18. It is the same as the one found in FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\FA-18\model folder. It looks like it is copied over during the install process. See image.
FA-18D.MDL
model.cfg             <-- you might see this as model without the .cfg extension depending on how your windows explorer view is set

If any of those are missing, try reinstalling. If that doesn't work, create a ticket in Support.
