Seems to work in my 1.2 installation here. Check both altimeters and their pointers.
Since your screenshot doesn't show any 10.000-Feet Pointer at zero but the one for the Runway Height (No.6 item), I think that you are mixing up the pointers there. The one for the runway height is normal to be seen at zero when flying high.
So, there actually isn't any 10.000ft pointer at all.
I've mixed them up myself before (and thought about the No.6 being a 10.000ft pointer), maybe that's why I see the same behavior on your side. :)
