Title: Re: Flight Sim Commander Connection Problem

Hi guys.

Here is a report on how it's going.

1. I removed the CS707 A/P 2D panel.
2. Replaced it with the MSFS Bendix-King Radio AP.
3. It works well for turning the A/P ON and OFF. So does the (default) Z key!
4. I can only use the following buttons on the Bendix-King AP. AP, ALT, UP and DN.
5. Altitude Hold works well. The default VS is + or - 100 fpm, but you can increase the value for climb and descent by editing the default VS in the aircraft.cfg. I can only increase/decrease the Altitude Hold in 1000 foot intervals.
6. To get the HDG button to turn on, I have to use the 3D Autopilot Mode Selector knob to HDG.
7. To get the NAV button to turn on, I have to use the 3D Autopilot Mode Selector knob to NAV and it follows the GPS flight plan ONLY.
8. To get the APR button to turn on, I have to use the 3D Autopilot Mode Selector knob to GS AUTO or GS MAN.
9. NAV button on the Bendix-King AP follows the VOR/LOC plan when you select VOR LOC on the 3D Autopiot Mode Select Switch.

No matter how much looking I do, I can't seem to kick the CS A/P out of the plane so that the . I can get the 707 2D AP out, but not the 3D VC AP out. The 2D AP was easy to deal with, but the 3D A/P is alluding me. The 2D AP uses the Captain_Sim.x707.P11 - P11_ap, but there is no mention of this gauge in any of the [VCockpit.xx]'s. I am presently looking through all the panel CAB files looking for it, but it could take a while as I have look at all the BMPs to (hopefully) find the 3D A/P. :(

UPDATE [timestamp=1294310187]. I have been messing around with this for a quite a while now and I can't find the 3D A/P for the 707. It's possible that it is coded into the model. :(
That said. The Autopilot works well as long as you follow what I said above. I did have an interest experience when I used GS MAN when the plane lost the Glide Slope and climb so steeply that it stalled and crashed. I don't know if it will do this all the time though. Approach works fine on GS AUTO. So it's good to go.

@Sanal. It performs quite well. I think that it IS a bit easier. My preference is to use the 707 A/P and not the MSFS default Bendix-King. I'm going to have a look at some of the other Autopilots from the default B747, B737 and A321, to see if they are better. I think I will still run into the same problems as I have already mentioned, but I'll let you know.
