What are we supposed to be seeing through that "radar" anyway?
Is that the ground or straight ahead?

What use is it at 30,000ft

There sure is a use for the radar at 30,000ft.  I am currently going through CSO (navigator) school for the USAF.  We are learning how to use the radar to navigate, among other things.  You can use references from the radar, be it terrain, water or cities to help guide you on your route.  (DR Navigation) I am not familiar with the system on the B-52 sim, but I would imagine the real B-52 can use its radar to help rendevous with tankers as well as paint skin reflections on other aircraft.  As a side note, it would be awesome to use an INS system to cordinate with the currently installed radar.
