Its very curious that this CIVA INS should work for some and not for others. Working in the 727 and not in the 707?

In the Dual gauge I attempted to install, I did see the dreaded battery light come on, even after all engine driven generators were stabilised and supplying the entire aircraft? I managed to get that to go out after numerous reset "presses".

I may even try a single install again, like you have Mark.  Perhaps that's the answer?

But at the end of the day the CIVA INS did not work as I saw in the video. Its like it was corrupted somehow?  Trying to update it with the VOR method caused CTD!

Frustrating, to say the least.

The 3d INS in the CS 707 worked as a "dummy" when I had the CIVA running. The Lat/Long current position was displayed. That was also frustrating.

Why can't CS just implement the INS as a full gauge?  It cant be too difficult for the programmer guys...? Can it? :o :-? Why model a very nice "Dummy" 3d gauge? :(
As far as I know, the reason that there is no 3D CIVA INS in the 707, is because Captain Sim were waiting for a response from the developers of the SimuFly Delco Carousel IV-A INS and never got one. I hope that now that they (Captain Sim) have made their own version for the L-1011, that this will find its way over to the 707.

I saw the "CIVA INS - The thread only please" in this forum so I entered my CIVA question here first.  I don't have the CS B707 (yet ~:)
Do you have the CIVA working properly in the 707?  I sure miss
the VMAX RFP B742.  The CIVA (triple redundant) worked
beautifully in it.
I'm still working on a (CIVA) solution for the CS B727 that works
every time.  Maybe I'll get lucky.  When I do,  I'll post a CIVA
startup checklist in the CS B727 forum.

I did think it was about the 727 when I first saw the post here, but I wasn't totally sure.

The INS in the 707 works perfectly fine for me. I originally had a few problems that I fixed by moving the line: gauge04=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, csx701 (from [Window00]) and pasting it in [VCockpit01] as gauge27=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, csx701. I never realised that pressing SHIFT+1 was the key to getting it to initialise, until it was pointed out to me somewhere in this thread. By then it didn't matter, because having in the [VCockpit.xx] section, it activated as soon as I loaded the 707.

I had a go at doing a flight in the 727 with a Dual INS added, but it performed strangely. The 727 wandered across the sky on its way to each waypoint, as if it had never captured the track properly. After about 30 minutes, I had successfully (and I use that term loosely) navigated 5 waypoints, and was heading for the 6th when I aborted the flight. On that final 100nm  leg, it was still wandering across the sky, not flying the track in a direct line. I never fully lost the battery power during the flight, although the BAT light was on for quite some time before I aborted. It made me think that the performance might have been caused by low battery power, but I doubt that is really why. It was erratic right from the start, long before the battery light came on. :-/
