Hello Ken,

I have not tried the CIVA gauge in the 727. My 707 install was only a partial success. I thought I had it nailed after experimenting with different configs. Alas, the CIVA never worked properly for more than a couple of waypoints.

As I previously stated the CIVA INS never worked as demonstrated in the linked video.

I assumed there must be an anomaly with my FSX/CS 707 install. Since the CIVA INS gauge is freeware and installed by the user, obviously its prone to errors by the users install method.

Of greater concern was the CTD's it caused. In my opinion, when software causes CTD's its either incorrectly set up for FSX, or the Aircraft simulated, or both?

Its a pity because we are attempting to recreate a true simulation of these historic aircraft, which were fitted with an INS for long haul overseas routes.

In the 707, the Doppler nav. works very well. But of course the INS would be the long haul navigation option of choice.

The 727 has only the navigation radios and these work well for VOR/NDB navigation and allow us to simulate short/medium haul routes. I have not attempted an install of the CIVA gauge in the 727. My assumption being that since the gauge code is the same, the panel config.  the same,  the errors would be also.

I suppose the bottom line is that the INS needs to be integrated by the CS programmers to be properly functional.

The 707 Doppler System has been perfectly integrated. So the INS requires the same treatment! ;)

Oh, and a nice 3d INS panel with a Dual gauge would be very welcome too ;)

Best Regards
David.
