For the sound problems I can only point you toward this thread http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1242905995. I really don't know what sounds are modeled and what ones aren't so I have no idea if I have all the sounds or not.

The only time I use the throttle on the joystick, in the VC or 2D cockpit is to taxi at airports. I never use it for takeoffs. On a takeoff where both LNAV and VNAV are armed, I press the EPR button for takeoff thrust. The amount of thrust can be adjusted by entering a temp on the takeoff page in the CDU. The higher the temp the less thrust. Once your are several hundred feet in the air press one of the CMD buttons to engage the autopilot. Shorty thereafter the EPR light will go out and VNAV will assume control of the throttles. I have got to go now so I will finish this with another post tommorrow. Hope this helps.
