Title: I'd buy the following expansion models (RESULTS!)
Post by Captain Sim 2 on Apr 9th, 2010 at 6:44am
Upcoming 707 Captain family will deliver the 707-320B, 707-320ADV, 707-300C, VC-137C and E-3A models.

Would you like to get more expansion model variants available for the 707 family? If so what are your preferences? You can pick as many as you would buy.

Thanks, and standby for preview.

01MAY10: Poll closed. These are the poll results:

We believe we can use the results as a schedule for the Expansion models release. Most popular variations will go first.

CS Staff,
I welcome the entire lot to be included in a 707 Package; an excellent addition to my FSX.  8-)

...And, frankly on a side note, I would like you to please finish the VC's for the B-52 and make an authentic F-117 VC for your XLoad F-117A and, begin them this year, along with the 707 project(s).  Please consider doing this and of course then name your price, please?  ;)

Thank you for your posting and consideration of user requests.

I have to say I had a mature moment when CS announced the release of the 707 for FSX. This has been long awaited for and I have a feeling there are many others that feel the same way. As a former aircrat mechanic On the KC-135A/D/R/T model if you giys produce the KC-135 addon please please put the correct wing on it. ;D I hve no doubt simmers hobbists and enthousists will be talking long of this new addition. There are only two airplanes in the world the Constellation and the one plane that killed it the 707. Cant wait well done.

I had the 707 for fs9 and thought it was a great plane but was a bit disappointed that the QANTAS aircraft was too long.

QANTAS 707's were specially built short bodied models and it would be great if Captain Sim would make this variant.

Here is a quote from Wikipedia about the QANTAS 707's.

"The 707-138 was based on the -120 but had a 10 ft (3.05 m) reduction to the rear fuselage and were capable of increased range. It was a variant for Qantas and included Boeing customer number of 38 for Qantas. A total of 13 -138s were built."

I am assuming you will be making the 707 for FSX?
Can I assume it will include modeling for wing movement in turbulence and touchdown?
I still think the 707 is one beautiful airliner... the first jet I ever saw and flew in... back in the 60's....

Thanks,

I'll be very happy to have the 707 for FSX.  I'm more into passenger variants than military, but that's just me.

Mmmm, now if you could make the KC135 that would actually refuel AI fighter jets, that would be pretty cool. ::)

Does the development include or consider a more complex and working 707 for FS9?

I would certainly buy an improved FS9 package with all civil variants,ie -120,-120B.320, etc

In late ’57 or early ’58, Braniff International Airways was the first American based airline to order and take delivery on the B707-100 (the smaller water-injected engines).  I remember the black smoke boiling out of the extremely LOUD JT3C engines on take-off at Dallas Love Field (KDAL).
My father was 37yrs with Braniff and he saw the growth of the airline from the Lockheed Electra (2 engine tail dragger), DC-3, DC-6, DC-7, Constellation, and finally the Jet –Age with the Lockheed Electra TurboProp and then Jets.

I think I remember, on a “Fairy Flight” about 1960 – 1962 (only Braniff employees and family were allowed to fly these asset repositioning flights) from KDAL to KMIA, I had the opportunity to sit in the right seat of a B707-100 on approach into Miami before the Co-Pilot took over.

I would VOTE for the expansion models: B707-100 or B707-227 with the Braniff El Dorado paint scheme.

Note: “The -200 series was made for Braniff who required a 'hot and high' variant to use in Latin America. Very similar to the -100 with only five examples made, the main change was the JT4A turbojets”.

I flew on a Qantas 707 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Darwin, Australia, in November 1963 (I was 5). We were moving back to Australia after 2 1/2 years there. My father was stationed at Butterworth Air Force Base.

We arrived in Darwin to hear the new that JFK had been assassinated (I honestly don't remember that because I was too young). :'( But I do vaguely remember the flight being very rough (My Mum says that it was because it was the monsoon season around that time).

I'm really looking forward to this 707. I went and had look at the screen shots of the Legendary 707 and I know it's going to be another awesome plane from Captain Sim. I can't stand the wait! :)

Apologies for quoting myself but here is a bit more info about the 707-138.

John Travolta's 707 is a 138B (registered N707JT) and is the last 138 still in active service.

VH-EBA (a 707-138) was the first Boeing jet sold outside the US. It was delivered to Qantas in 1959 and eventually ended up in the UK after passing through many owners where the Qantas Founders Museum bought it . After a restoration it was flown back to Australia (using VH-XBA rego) and now sits at Longreach airport in the Australian outback alongside a 747.

PS I've made some FSX scenery of Longreach airport which includes the 707 and 747 (available from the aussiex website).

I would be most interested in the KC-135 particular the R model as the E models are being phased out by the Air Force and Air National Guard. I know if CapSim does a KC135 it iwll be right, I fly KC135 for a virtual military organization.

I'm planning to buy the whole range no matter what different model they do. I'm already saving my money so as I will have enough on my MasterCard to get them all. However. If they are released in the same way as the 767 was released. That won't be a problem.

Anthony,

The B707's used by QANTAS were a mixture of B707-100's and B707-300 series aircraft.

The B707's the RAAF bought from QANTAS in the 1970's were 300 models for example. Captain sim's representation of a QANTAS B707-300 is perfectly accurate.

Hello!

This is great news Captainsim.
On behafe of Virtual NATO this will mean our fully convertion to FSX.
The E-3A and Captainsim has and will be the flagship of our fleet.  Now when we see the FSX model comes in the horizon I belive last part of our users finaly can convert to FSX.
Beside the E-3A we also use TCA (707-300C) and KC-135 in the 707 family. And then ofcorse several other frames.

In the virtual world and our friends and partners we have vRAF, vFAF, vItAF, SimAF and vUSAF also would look realy forard to this release, Beside vRAF all the others using KC-135 and other 707 vartiants together with E-3.

Thanks Captainsim!   You made a very happy day for alot of virtual Air Forces with this news!

Yes, you are quite right about the 707-320's.

But the 707-138 was a custom built short bodied aircraft for Qantas. And I want one  ;D.

Would love to see a KC-135 as well.  Should that prove to be a winner, perhaps a suggestion...

Include a visual model with the boom and/or the drogue deployed.  Could double the utility so that we could use it as an AI tanker to refuel your BUFF and the couple of awesome Hornets around.  Given that some people have just gotten an aerial refueling guage working, this could even happen for real (I know there are AI models made for this already, but I expect the CS one would be much better looking).

The Boeing 707 never had installed airstairs, so to add them would be extremely un prototypical. The feature was added to the 727 and 737 because these aircraft were marketed to operate out of airports with limited facilities.

I do hope though that Captain Sim puts all the path and night lighting on all those fuse buses and panels. It would definitely add to the night ambiance of the cockpit. These things have a lot of lights in their cockpits and I hope C.S. captures them all. You folks are the best in my books!

Cheers,
Thad

well it would be nice to have a airstair feature that would appear at the door once it opened.  or have it as an option on the animations control panel like the flight attendant on the 27.  the vc-137 never pulled up to the gate.  and for us charter pilots, some sort of airstairs is a must... :)

I stand corrected, it was a bit confusing as to how the expansion info was presented.

Glad to hear there will be many more models to come. Presumably, they will all be FSX natives?

Sure would like to see the Captain do a DC-8 to go along with all those 707s.

Having had time to think about the way you have chosen to go about the delivery of the 707 and the Expansions, I think it's a great idea. I just happen to be one of those who loves the idea of having the whole cabin behind me. Because I'll have to learn the differences of how to fly the 707 compared to the more modern 757 and 767, I probably wouldn't be able to wander back through the virtual cabin for a while anyway.

I believe John Travolta has a 707.  It would be fun to have a model of his private aircraft.

I'm sure that there will never be a Texture or model of John Travolta's private Aircraft. Because Captain Sim is a professional Company and they would need a license, but however I hope that there will be never a Texutre of John Travoltas private Aircraft his a scientologist.

That would be fun to have, Dave!  I just got Captain Sim's new 707 and look forward to having that unique Travolta paint.  Let me know when you are ready with it.
I don't care if Mr. Travolta is into Scientology.  I'm not planning on marrying him  ;D  I just like his movies and he is a great disco dancer (like I care about that).
He did fly his 707 into Haiti to bring them supplies after the earthquake.  That was very nice.

Captain Sim, I was really pleasantly surprised to see the 707 released so soon.  I didn't expect it until after the B-52.
I can't wait to install it and try it out.  This is going to be a lot of fun. ;)

Two questions here: #1 what is a 707-700 #2 where is the 720 option?? :'(

The 707-700 basically a re-engined 707-300 but with much bigger and much more efficient CFM-56 engines and some other modifications. As for your second question, I am sure down the road, captain sim will make one.
I for one would like to see the E-6 and the 707-700 being made. I had the priveledge of working with the E-6. I sure do miss them!

Almost a year bump here, but yeah, I am loving the 707 Captain, such a quality piece of work, incredible, but I would also like to toss my opinion on this old voting thread, I would love to see the Boeing 707-420, the stretched version of the 707 with Rolls-Royce Conway 508 turbofans.

There is nothing like that feeling you get when you get into 707 VC and KNOW that you gotta fly it where you want it to go. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] ;D :D
