Title: Two questions
Post by Space shuttle on Mar 28th, 2010 at 2:28pm
1. Inside the Cabin when I look at the left wing the Ailerons and the flaperons always display in the up position. When the control surfaces on the exterior display neutral.

2. The camera appears to be set to far away from the 727 is there anyway to correct this in the cfg. file?

1. I haven't taken a look out through the Cabin windows to notice, but I will have a look later.

2. Yes. There is a way. BUT...as far as I know, it changes the .mdl file (so it's not through the aircraft.cfg), which can have an adverse affect on the way it looks. I wouldn't recommend using it.

Ya both are bothering me greatly!

I did look for a Camera setting in the cfg. and I could find anything other than standard camera positions for the special views. Not the exterior :S

In the first Picture you can see the Neutral control settings but the Flight controls indicate differently.

In the second pic you can see the default spacing from the 727 with the external camera. If I zoom into the aircraft I get a distorted view of the surrounding environment. How can I adjust the camera distance?

Attention Captain Sim

I am writing a Review on this product. I am having trouble with these two items and need to know weather or not they can be addressed. I've submitted questions to the KB only to have them deleted.

This is showing in detail my problems. Please let me know what I can do about it.

Respectfully yours,
Space Shuttle

I ran that program on the 727-100. It's default distance is about 32 meters. First I changed it 20 meters, and it looked OK (and close).

Then I changed it to 10 meters, which is too close, all was NOT OK. When I returned to the VC looking straight ahead, it was like the view from the 2D cockpit. If I swiveled around by more than 90 degrees, the VC could be seen, but only in the direction I was looking.

At a setting of about 15-16 meters, everything appeared OK, including everything in the VC.

Before (default distance)

After (radius down to about 16 meters)

What I don't understand about this, is how changing the external view radius can have an affect on the VC  :-? The VC in 727-100 is a separate model to the exterior.

Captain Sim is the issue with the Aileron just a current bug? And if so will it be fixed?

Thank you Captain sim Great product by the way! :D

I used a program called RADItor.exe.

Someone over at Freeflight Design Shop Design Forums was asking how to change the aircraft radius for FSX airplanes (you can't do it when creating the model in the same way you could in FS9) and this program was mentioned along with a link. I got it because sometimes my model radius is too far/close and I want to change it.

As a general rule, I don't use them on others models, but I did the CS727-100 to show it can be done.

Markoz,

I am sorry I jupt in your post. I was trying to reach you.
I noticed you have same PC configuration like me. Except I have Nv 280X Graphic card.

MY FPS are very low. I am getting at major APs (JFK/EWR) on taxiway around 6-8. Some times 12, but plane moves like in bottle neck.

Over 300FL with 727-100X around 24-27 FPS.(Over major cities 12-15) Recently I reinstalled every thing, Started from Manufacturing Day One. I have Vista 64 Ultimate. Nothing changed.
My addons:
CS727-100, 200, CS-767

REX,UTX, GEX and My Traffic

How is your settings?

Thanks

Sanal

Hi Sanal.

I have used Nick N's FSX tweaks to get the best out of my system. His tweaks can be found HERE. It is best to open with IE because Firefox doesn't show the entire post, although I have found that Firefox 3.6.2 works fine for viewing it. You need to follow what he says to do EXACTLY. This will most probably require you to reinstall FSX which is a real pain in the "you know where".

He updates this all the time. His latest update was 25/2/10 so it is always good to return to.

Up until the other day I wasn't using the [BUFFERPOOLS] settings because it seemed to mess things up for me. With the latest Nvidia drivers 197.13 (25/3/10) I find that setting that to Poolsize=200000000 works very well for me now. I really should try a higher setting though.

To be honest. I haven't really stopped changing things ever so slightly to get the best out of my system.

I wish I had a GTX285 or GTX295 but the price is a bit high for me at the moment. FSX is CPU driven anyway, but I do have other games installed. ;)

I have REX2, but it isn't installed at the moment because it really eats into my frame rates. That's disappointing. :'(
I use Active Sky Evolution when using real world weather, and I have followed their recommendations for the settings in FSX.cfg and in FSUIPC.ini (I have a registered version of FSUIPC ).

I have found that Captain Sim 757 and 767 really hit my frame rates, but the 727 I hardly notice the hit.

If you need more help on this. Just contact me via the EMAIL button below.

Mark
