Title: Flight Model Mod 1.1
Post by Michael2 on Feb 1st, 2010 at 6:12am
I have a new version of my flight model mod available for the Captain Sim 727-100.  The flap animation is now properly synchronized with the flight model.  COG is improved for better rotation and I have included a take off elevator trim chart.  Also included is a gauge by Javier Cuellar to give TAT and %MAC readings.

1st Test. Just take-off, climb, turn around and land (30nm from vor).

Only can say this is just perfect!! ;)

The others problems are now gone.
- Take off, smooth.
- Spoilers work normally
- No more balloon effect when landing with flaps 30.

Congratulations Michael!!! and great job.

Soon I wil give you a gift, still working on it  ;).

So I assume these mod's only work for the 100 and not the 200 freighter version?  Also, are all of the mod's version specific?

Thanks!!

Hylan

Everything I have done is for the 100 only.  I would like to do the same for the 200, but I don't know when I will have the time.

?...Is this applicable to V2.1?

It shouldn't make any difference what version is used.

Can  use it the Cargo -100 version too? Thanks!  ;D

EDIT: I installed the mod 1.1 and now my steering wheel is below ground. Is there anything i can do to get this out? Thanks.

Nose wheel below ground? I haven't seen this.  Are you talking a few millimeters or completely below ground?

Hello, is this relevant to the 2.4 version, and the link does not work for me. Can you re-upload? Thanks

New link is here. It should work for any version, but I haven't tried it personally with anything beyond 2.2.

I have a fix for the sinking nosewheel.  In the aircraft.cfg file, under "contact points", in the first line, replace the number -11.45 with -12.2 .

Unfortunately I have same problem with MOD 1.1:

1- Front landing gear sunks to tarmac ( I have already changed Contact point -14.45 to -12.20

2- Test flight loading:

PAX 70
TAT: 15.0    MAC: -28.3% (No GO)
Payload: 28,500Lbs
Fuel: 19,000Lbs

My observations:

There are only  three  payload stations are available in MSFSX Payload settings for 727-100 .It is not realistic.(??) Needs more station to distribute weight. Therefore weight cannot be  balance and  shifts  toward to front of the envelope and front wheel  sunks.

Please load same Payload/fuel to your 727-100. Let see if you will reach the same MAC: -28.3 and will wheel sunks to tarmac.

If yo test same loading I can understand where the problem was generated.
Thanks
Sanal

I identified the problem. CS-727 100 three payload station will not give proper MAC% and take-off trim settings. An additional 6 more payload stations are required.

I took FSX default 737-800 and unloaded payload to "Zero" and loaded its first three stations each 9500Lbs total off 28000Lbs. You can see fault 737-800  front wheel sunk to tarmac like Cs727-100.

I hope Captain Sim put additional Payload Stations" and bring the Cs727-100 perfect level.

I am not really sure how you got the payload that high. Mine topped out about 4000 lbs less.  And I had a MAC of 24%.  My nosewheel looked a little flat, but not with hub sunk below the tarmac like you are showing.  I'll see if I can find a better solution.  I believe, however, that the real aircraft does sit about 1' nose down.

727-100  GW 161,000 Lbs and my test flight TOW 135000Lbs. You cannot put  28500Lbs into three Stations. You have the distribute the weight to each available stations,
If you look at Default 737-800, its   easily  distribute 28,500lbs  to 9 stations  and front wheel will not sunk.

727-100 aircraft, cfg file you will see  available stations are 50. but CS only activated 3. That is the problem.

Hi Sanal.

Use 727 ACE utility to add passengers and cargo.
