I'm not able to move the switch of the External Power neither to GrdService nor to off.

Sometimes, it moves up and then again to Off position really fast.

Somebody else with same issue?

have you switched on the CS external power? use the simicon panel, and click the big EP on the bottom.
might be wrong here, but I thought it was that way.

EDIT: Mark explained it better than me in the next post, but we mean the same  :)

You need to click on the EP (External Power) icon on the SimIcons Panel (shift+1) to provide the power to the plane before using the switch on the Flight Engineers Panel. Once External Power is provided the light above "AC Connected" will glow brightly so you know external power is available.

I just today downloaded the 727-200 expansion and during my first flight I did as described, clicking on the large EP and then checked the FE panel to find the external power light on.  I changed the switch to external power, started the engines and took off.  Soon after takeoff I couldn't get the autopilot to turn on and checked the FE panel.  The external power light was still on.  After engines start on the ground I had clicked EP to turn it off, but in flight it was still on. I clicked on the FE panel switch to turn off EP, but no change.  I clicked on EP icon, no change, the panel light still showed EP connected.
What's up?

I have found that the light quite often appears to be on when in fact it is off. It is brighter when on but even when off the lights really looks like it is glowing and on (see picture).

Hi, i can not turn the engine with external power, the electric power and pneumatic pressure are ok, I click on EP and BA icon, all processes to power the engines are ok, they know what happens?

Note: with apu eng run ok.

FWIW,

On my 727-100 I cannot engage EP if I have closed one of the generator breakers.

Engines are running and EP is available. I have to trip the generator breaker (MGR) first, then I can close the EP switch. This is not the way the real 727 works. Also, when the EP switch drops to the off position the A.C. meters drop to zero even though the EP is still connected to the aircraft - also not how it is in real world. If the external power is plugged into the plane and the volts and freqs are OK the meters will show the voltage and frequency regardless of the EP switch position.

When you move any of the power source selectors - APU, engine driven generators or EP, the other power source will trip off. This is the way the plane was designed. You cannot have two different sources of power at the same time. Again, it seems there is a problem in how the trip system is working in the 727 sim.

I had the same problem with the 722. The Ground Power switch does not move no matter it clicks. I found that you can get the GND PWR after selecting BA/EP only when Selecting the Standby position in the Essential Power Source.
