Title: 0.5 takeoff trim recommended setting in FMC Post by audiohavoc on Dec 17th, 2009 at 1:53am
Has anyone else experienced the 767's fmc recommending a 0.5 takeoff trim setting? I know I am correctly programming the FMC with all the proper weight and balance info, so I don't know why it is doing this. I just go ahead and use a trim setting in the 2.5 to 2.7 range, but this is not very accurate.

Yep. I have. It's always been like that since v1.0. It is a pity that it isn't more like the 757s.
I always set the trim to 0.5 and unlike the 757 it doesn't seem to lift off at V2 like the 757. It's always a bit later. If I set the trim higher than 0.5 the 767 wants to climb very steep at about 6000fpm. I also think that the range of 2.5 - 2.7 would be more realistic but I don't know if that would true of the 767 either. :( Mark |

I experienced the opposite when I tried 0.5. The aircraft required immediate positive trim and backpressure on the yoke to keep it from descending. :-?

Guys,
These trim setting numbers you are suggesting,... do you go by the hash marks or do you go by the numbers that appear if u leave your mouse pointer on the trim gauge for a second? As you know they DO NOT correspond at all! Alex C |

I go by the Cockpit Tooltips that display for a few seconds when you hover the mouse over the trim lever. That works well for me. :)
