Hi James :)
Fine to hear ::) I am thinking off an ELAL PW todo - but she still in my mind i did not start the paint yet........... The run for the 762 is not so fast as for the 763. But i think it all has to do with the hard paintkit stoff those planes use :-/ cheers Mario ;) |

Hi Mario.
I have found no problems with the paintkit. I'd upload screenshots of my paint but I haven't figured out how to inbed them into my message yet. I should have this United Old Colours ready for upload by tomorrow. Then I'll finish tweeking my Avianca Colombia repaint. Regards, James |

Thanks Mario for the support.
Tim, what did you have in mind for a transpacific carrier? James |
Title: Re: The ultimate 767-200 repaint Thread Post by Tim Capps on Nov 8th, 2009 at 2:49pm
I don't know who still flies 767-200s transpacific, James. A quick check of United and Delta shows neither of them are using the 200, although, of course, they have in the past. I doubt a big carrier would use the 200 when 747s then 777s were available for t-p routes. The Gimli Glider was Air Canada, but not on a t-p route.
A classic Delta would be nice, whether they used it or not. It is an older airplane that hasn't been in production for many years, and the bare metal look would suit it well (e.g. photo of restored 200 on Wikipedia). That would get my vote. For a realistic t-p route you'd probably have to look to a smaller carrier. Maybe someone more knowledgable can chime in about who, if anyone, is still flying 200s t-p. This consolidated list is a good idea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_Spirit_of_Delta_Boeing_767-200.jpg Here's a link to "Spirit of Delta" which is beautiful: |

Tim. I believe Qantas still has 762s in it fleets. Sydney (YSSY) to Los Angeles (KLAX) would be my guess. I don't know for sure. I should check up on it.
I went to Manila in 1993 with Qantas on a 767 but I think it was a 763. I didn't pay too much attention. I was only flying GAs on Flight Sim in those days. Normally I went on a DC10 with Philippine Airlines (PAL) to Manila. Mark |

Qantas would be good, too, since I was thinking about that very route. I love my Orbx scenery. I prefer the looks of the 200. I think the shorter aircraft somehow look more balanced and aesthetically pleasing. I actually think the 767 is prettier than her little sister, although I am looking forward to getting back to the 757 after my 767 review, tutorial, etc. is all done.

Yeah Qantas phased all their 762's out around 2004 they have 29 763's left though but as I stated before I would love to see their Livery in the 200 Series Qantas now use their 767 on the MEL-AKL-LOS or the SYD-AKL-LOS

Hi All,

I would really love to see an Air New Zealand old/new on the -200 as well Qantas.
Qantas do not operate the 76 though trans pacific though NZ. We get -300's from Sydney to CHC and AKL but the LAX route is a 747 and continues to MEL as a 738. |

I have a list of paints I would like to see for the -200. I would do them myself, but I don't have a whole lot of time/skill to paint planes. So, if anyone could attempt these it would be appreciated.

Would someone please do the 767-200 in either Piedmont or US Airways NC colors? Or both, preferably.
If someone did one for Piedmont, oh... that'd be swell. :) |
