Title: VFA-103, even though Superhornet?
Post by Malloy on Apr 7th, 2009 at 6:06pm
Good evening!

This is my first posting after having installed the XLoad a week ago. I love it and I am really enjoying the package, which I actually purchased on New Year.

Thing is that I learned yesterday that the "Jolly Rogers" are still existing, but unfortunately operated by Superhornets. I do know that you guys stick to realism, but I also think there won't be a Superhornet for FSX within the next two years either...

I suck at repaints, actually did just one and that ended up like my first scale model when I was ten. I might try of course (will take me weeks and and the end it will suck anyway), but if somebody likes the idea and wanna go for it... I would grateful, lads!

That might help...

I do apprechiate the work of the repainters (Dax should know me from FS9 times -  the "Wild Geese"-Hercules in 2006. Regards to you if you read this and all the best. Read you are abroad...), so please do not think I ask out of lazyness...

Anyway, Kind regards from Austria!

Tim

Hey Malloy,

I do like the idea,
and since you've provided us with a very good source file for repainting,
I will give it a try.
Don't expect to much of it however, since until now I've only done (some) repaints for the C-130 X-perience.
I'll see how it works out, and let you know!!

Thank you so much! Tried the paintkit yesterday just to find out that it is made for Photoshop only (and I use PaintshopPro). Thought no problem, as I have FSPaint, but for some reason the F-18 (Acce or Xload) does not load (such as other aircrafts)...
I know that Dax had the same issues (I checked of course), but converting A into B to see it in C and then to transfer back to A via D... Honestly: I gave up.

Working atually on mission design and have quite some positive results as a start. If I am getting good enough, I will then of course think of the VFA-103 as well. Might be much smaller audience though, but that never bothered me...

Still in learning, so won't be ready tomorrow... ;)

Kindest regards and many many thanks!

Tim

Well, the repaint is finished.
It's not perfect, but since it's my first repaint for the hornet,
I'm very pleased with the result.
as soon as it has been tested some more,
I'll upload to avsim and the CS server.

Lars, do me the favour and clear either you mailbox or give me an alternative address where I can send you the files I did for you. Getting through to you is much tougher than creating the whole file ... ;)

Kindest regards from Austria and happy Easter to all of you!

Tyrion, I got your email, but can't get through hotmail anymore. Sent from an alternative email. Sender is something like jaustin and subject is named: Jolly Rogers.

Screens to the message are attached in the download link. Sorry for the inconveniance. Any alternative than hotmail?

Added Skype in case...
