Hello All, I am New to Repainting and i would like to Embark feet first into the repainting scene, I want to make an MARPAT F-18 C/D, i have scoured the net looking for photos of the aircraft and found quite a few, i want to have the most accurate account of this aircraft and it's scheme for FSX, I have been following the work by David Sweetman, and i really would like to know how you veterans in repainting get such crisp and vibrant details out of your textures. I have FSrepaint, DDS convert and Adobe PhotoShop CS3. any help or advice from the community would be great, and appreciated. i think that the MARPAT F-18 from VMFA 314 is a Beautiful Bird and would be a great addition to the CS line of Aircraft textures. 8-)

Hey,

I can't really help you, since I've only recently started repainting...
I just took the C-130 repaint kit, edited it and started experimenting until it showed up in fsx the way I wanted it...
(I haven't tried the FA-18 yet)
especially the first one was long and painstaking to get it right!
I use Photoshop CS3 with the nvidia plug in for dds, that's it.
What helped me a lot, was looking at finished dds files and compare them to what I had...
so you can see if the orientation is right, and where the different parts of the aircraft are in the texture files.

Hey there thanks for the reply... I did just what you said you do, i actually �put out the MARPAT USMC VMFA 314 texture on avsim yesterday. it turned out pretty good for my first posted texture.

Just to let those interested know , i have done some finishing touches and enhanced the Marpat texture i made several months ago. this is the final result.

Hello, I have the Captinsim C-130 Payware and i was wondering if any of you knew how to do repaint's such as the Coast Guard, UN, or the Red Cross textures if you do please reply to me on here or my e-mail joewaaaay@hotmail.com. Thank you.
