Thanks, I tried rfinder for say KJFK to EGLL.  It created a good enough FP and I  modified it in notepad to FSX format (comparing to an existing FP that FSX generated JFK to EGLL via Alasak!).  Then in CDU I tried to load it, but it doesn't do anything.  I have another FP that loads ok in CDU.

So, I started deleting waypoints, like the oceanic ones:

Still no luck with that.

I also tried a simroutes.com FP in FSX format, but CDU won't load that either.  

I lastly tried entering FP manually, it seems my nav files might be nonexistent as I tried JFK, MERIT, HFD, PUT, BOS-all which should exist.  

I broke down and bought the latest navigraph...works now.
