From the time you turn the Autopilot on, you only need to push one of them (I use the center one most of the time). Once the Autopilot is switched to APP and the 757 gets close enough, the other two CMD buttons will light up and LAND 3 will illuminate on the AUTOLAND STATUS Annunciator.
I have never been able turn all 3 CMD buttons ON. So I assume that the FMC/MCP does. ;)
