Title: EICAS System?
Post by guenseli on Feb 27th, 2008 at 11:33am
Hello,

thanks for the EICAS System for the Base Pack with the Update to 1.1
Now i can see, for example in the Australian Airforce C-130 the EICAS and the little Box with some knobs on top ot the Cockpit-Panel.
For what is the little Box? I think its a part of the EICAS, but i'm not sure.
The Knobs are inoperable in the flight model, is that correct?

Would be nice, someone could help answering my questions. Thanks

Hi Guenseli

The box is part of the SKE (Station Keeping Equipment).  It is used in conjunction with a large round display (Not modeled) that is used to do formation insertion flying.  The big diplay give the position of the aircraft in your flight form a top down perspective.  The box on top can be used to give commands to the other aircaft in your formation.

Hope this is useful.

Anytime.

Yep yo got it.  SKE works just like the TCAS does.  The only difference is the display for SKE gives a complete 360 deg top down image of the aircraft in your flight in relation to your position.

In this image you can see the large circular diplay that accompanies the set top box.
