Strange?.... after clean re-install still the same problems? I starting to think that it maybe has to do with your system, particular with your graph card or its drivers. Could you maybe post an list of your hardware / operating system etc (specs). Try to update your drivers of your graph card, but first make an recovery point, just in case.... ;)

Also set in FSX under Options -> Graphics -> Global Options : the "Global Texture resolution" all the way to the Right (full), I noticed that when the slider is set to the left side, in some cases, details are missing or have lesser quality.

Post your specs, and hopefully for you, we or Capt sim will find an solution  ;)
