Title: Qantas 707 - first 707 sold outside USA
Post by brianlr on May 13th, 2007 at 8:16am
Hi everyone

I have had some fun recently watching a DVD of the restoration of the original Qantas 707 in Southend England late in 2006 and its flight back to Australia in December.

Then I found Dennis Kim's excellent textures of this aircraft online and have installed them.  Having watched the DVD and captured some stills I have been able to fine tune the textures and make them even better.  There are other improvements that I will make now that I have the 707 paint kit.

As this aircraft was also the very first 707 sold outside the USA, it is relevant not only to Qantas but to the whole history of passenger jet aviation world-wide, and I am happy to make the textures available to any interested person.  Let me know and I will upload them to the Captain Sim site when they are finished.

As I am new new to this forum I have not yet found a way to insert an image.  Any help in that way would also be of great interest to me.

Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian

Here's how I insert images.

I created an account with www.photobucket.com .   Once you upload an image it gives you a list of links that you can copy and paste into the forums.  Once you have posted the topic it should appear as mine do.

Here's a link to my latest post to see how I lay it out.

Hope this helps

I would love to solve this problem if possible!

Got it sorted.

On the right hand side of the screen of your websots page" Post This Photo..." you have an option called "Link To It".
Click this and select the size of screenshot you wish to post. You should have three URLs in the box under each option.  Copy the URL named "Post In A Forum".  Then paste directly into the post you wish the screenshot to appear. as above.

Hope this helps

Dax

Thanks Dax

Here is a screen shot of this aircraft at altitude in daylight.  Textures are almost completed now - just a few touch-up jobs to be completed!

But I still don't know how to remove/reduce the bright glow on the left fuselage at night and make the right side the same.  (See my picture included in Dax's message above.)  Any suggestions anyone???!!!

Regards,
Brian
