Was wondering if anyone could tackle this one.

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0906220/L/

They actually fly both the 10 and 8 door versions but hopefully someone will give it a try

Living in Vancouver I see them every day.
Unfortunately I havent a clue about doing Liveries and must rely on the tallents of others.

Thanks

I would like to request America West. It'll be nice to see their livery still flying my virtual skies once all the current 757's get repainted in the new US Airways colors (which would be my next request).

Hi mark. I was researching the repaint requests and found that Air Canada don't operate the 757. Only the 767.

I have added all the repaint requests to my paint shop msn group so when I get back the progress can be monitored with screen shots added.

Title: Re: FREE LIVERIES
Post by Chris Dittmar on Apr 17th, 2006 at 6:16pm
I posted about this already in it's own thread a while back, but someone suggested I plaster it here, so . . .

For anyone who is interested, I did Hooters Air.  Download from AVSIM here . . .

http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=Hooters+Air+%28Pace+Airlines%29+Boeing+757-200+%28Captain+Sim%29+&CatID=root&Go=Search

Real life shot:
http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=file&ImageID=125243

And the Sim version for Captain Sim

http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=file&ImageID=125244

before someone says the colors are wrong, they are not.  I got the official RGB values sent to me directly by Hooters in an email (many thanks to them for their support on this project).  All the artwork is hand done by me except the owl.  The reason the colors look so different between the photo and the sim is the photographer used a filter on his lens, which effected the CYMK values.

Also, Hooters uses the 8-door model, not the 10, so that would explain the obvious differences between the window alignments in reference to the logo.  Hooters, though awesome and friendly with their replies to RGB values, never replied to my fonts email (probably didnt go through **shrugs**) so I just used a font for the word "air" on the side then hand edited it as close as my talants could bring me.

Considering these differences, she is as close to accurate as she'll get physically.

Please, enjoy.

Title: ATA livery...
Post by Dillon on Apr 27th, 2006 at 8:30am
Just wondering if someone could do an ATA livery (circa 2005)???  This airline has more than a few 757s flying out of KMDW as that's their hub.  KMDW is one of the more challenging airports to opperate out of with any airliner let alone a 757.

America West is another livery needed...  ;)

I downloaded one B757-200 livery from AvSim(Hooters livery) and had to unzip the folder into the B757-200 aircraft folder. The outside aircraft textures(fuselage) looked great with the exception of the cockpit, wheels,etc...there were no colors. Then I realized that I had to copy and paste textures from an existing B757-200 aircraft(original CS aircraft textures folder) into the Hooters folder. Everything looked fine from there. Of course I am just learning how to load new liveries. So far so good!

Yet, I would still like to find some good B757-300 liveries out there. :P

Title: Re: FREE LIVERIES
Post by Chris Dittmar on Jul 18th, 2006 at 9:16am
Aye, joe.

Sorry about that -- the only textures we as painters are allowed to release are the ones included in the paint kit.  All other textures have to be copied in withOUT overwriting.  This is to protect copyrights of CS as well as make for smaller downloads via the user.

It's easy to get used to, though.

Can anyone point me to the right direction, I cant seem to locate the United (Grey Colors) 757.

Captain Sim, could we get links to the acutal files instead of the website where the files would be located for the free liveries area.

Title: Re: FREE LIVERIES
Post by Chris Dittmar on Jul 18th, 2006 at 10:39pm
Copy the black BOLD text that tells the title of the repaint on the Captain Sim site.

Paste it to AVSIM in the file search area.

AVSIM prohibits hotlinking, so CS had to stay doing just a general link to AVSIM -- but the titles and authors are intact.

For example -- to get that United Airlines paint - search "Robert Hollis" in AVSIM and all of his work, including that United repaint, will come up.

**EDIT**  I forgot that paint is on Surclaro - not AVSIM - I am not a member of Surclaro, but the procedure should still be the same.

Title: ATA lively anyone?
Post by Mito72 on Aug 17th, 2006 at 6:26am
I do not know if this has been requested yet, or if it is in the progress of being made. It would really be a nice gesture, especially for us loyal Captain Sim pilots wich currently fly for ata virtual. The new 757 wich has been released does not have an ATA lively and I cannot seem to find one anywhere. (at least none have been painted for the Captain Sim model)  :'(

is there anyone here that would be generous enough to provide the simulator community with such a gift. I myself am not even close to take on the challenge of creating a re-paint since,  i cannot do repaints to save my life.

But I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take on that challenge. I know all of us pilots that use the 757 here at ATA-Virtual would really appreciate it.  ;)

I am by no means complaning, I really have no problems with the 757 wich has been currently released. I also appreciate the wonderfull 1.2 update very much. It it just a bit dissapointing being unable to fly such a great product within our VA.

By the way, keep up the good-work Captain Sim. I am eagerly awaiting Block F.   :)

sincerely, an ATA Virtual pilot.

Yes please, I am also looking for an ATA livery. I bought the 757 package figuring there had to be an ATA livery with the amount of repaints that are offered. I guess I too am requesting an ATA paint for the CS 757-200and -300.
