I'm seeking advice for the L1011's fuel panel. I know that the two inboard tanks feed engines 1 and 3 and the outboard tanks number 2.
But with cross feed, it's possible to feed any engine from any tank.
So my proposed strategy is...

1. Open the cross feeds and feed all 3 engines using the inboard tanks until the sum of the inboard quantity gauges equals twice that of the sum of the outboard tanks.

2..Then close the cross feeds, switch on the outer boost pumps and switch to tank/eng

Is this the correct procedure? I couldn't find anything online or is there something automatic in the background.
