Installed 1.5 for fsx basepack OK. Cannot activate 300 or freighter expansion online. Any solutions?

Worked fine for me on all three, so I don't know why it wouldn't work for you. :-/

Please move the downloaded installer from C drive to any other and try again.

There are no viruses in our software. 99% AVG considers ACE as a virus and most likely has deleted it, please check.

I don't have the installer on my C driver, it's everything on a different HD
It didn't delete, I had to turned off AVG.
Please double check it, maybe something is doing an external request for the antivirus think it's malicious.
Because it alerts many files on SimObject/Airplanes/CaptainSim*

I use Avast. No virus found! :)

Note. Years go I used to use AVG free, but it let a nasty virus through, so I switched to Avast free (about 8 years ago I think), and I've never had a problem with a virus since infection since the move.

Having problems with the 1.5 update. I'm using a Saitek X52 Pro controller and a lot of the functions that I have programmed to the buttons don't work anymore but do on the keyboard.  These same functions worked fine in the previous version.

I can deal with the gear function not working, but I can't find the clickable hot spot for the TOGA switch in the VC.  I'm currently going through the manuals to find the TOGA switch but haven't found it yet. :-/

For your next update; could you make it controller friendly?

Right click on the Autothrottle button. That's done since the TOGA is on the front of the throttles and thus hard to access in a computer virtual cockpit environment. Ctrl-shift-G should work too...

I unloaded the 1.5 and in the P3D there continues appearing the version 1.4, is normal?  :-?

Title: Re: SP 1.5 is available!
Post by Captain Sim 2 on Nov 6th, 2014 at 9:57pm
Yes this is normal. We have not modified aircraft.cfg file in order not to remove your installed free liveries. Please check the ACE, there you will see the correct version.

Hi,

I installed the 1.5 update for FSX but when I loaded my FSX and tried the select the aircraft, my FSX froze up. I uninstalled everything and now when I tried to reinstall the 777, I get this error message. I click retry and it still wouldn't go any further. If I choose ignore, the aircraft is installed but FSX still freezes up if I try to select it in the simulator

Update - I think I fixed the problem. My bitdefender antivirus was the problem. I had to switch it off and exclude the ace file from scans. However, while I can see the 777 in the aircraft preview, when it select it in FSX it doesn't load.

Looks like somethings gone wrong with the textures?  :o

After a bit of Forum searching I've found that this problem is caused by a setting in Steve's DX10 Fixer, turned off Toned Shadows and now have the gauges back!

I applied the update and now trying to load the 777 causes FSX to crash.  The first time I tried to load it brought up the box about the new gauge, click ok and CRASH!

Restarted Windows, back to FSX free flight, select the 777, CRASH!!!

Running FSX Acceleration on Win7 64 bit.  Version 1.4 worked fine, but I did have to start a flight, back out to the free flight menu, then go back in for the plane to work.

I uninstalled, re-installed 1.4, re-applied the update, and it looks to be working this time.    ::)

Cannot get 1.5 basepack to work on Windows 8.1. Ver 1.4 works ok. Tried rebooting no joy. Task manager says FSX not responding. Any one else having this problem?

First up I had this happen when I tried FSX with the 777 v1.5 in Windows 8.1.
Then I got a CTD during the initial startup in the cockpit (turning the battery, External Power, Window Heat, etc. ON).
Now it's working fine. I'm doing my second 1 hour test flight, and everything is working fine, just as it did in the first test flight that I finished about 10 minutes ago.

All works here as well. Thank you CS.
I always temporarily disable AV during download and installation. I've also heard, that IE is better than Chrome and others for downloading.

I saw that quite a few people were uninstalling and reinstalling after having problems and I gave it a try too.  It seemed to fix the issues I was having with my controller.  I didn't turn off my antivirus program and it popped up and said that it quarantined a Trojan virus when I ran FSX right after the reinstall.  It looks like a legitimate Trojan attached to the CS777-200 ER GE in FSX so maybe that was the source of my problem.  I don't think it came from Captain Sim, I download a lot of stuff so it could have come from anywhere.

No matter what I try or how many times I reinstall v1.5, it just doesn't work. It freezed up my FSX

My install went fine but still have the issue of losing the last STAR before the runway. What I mean is that it skips this STAR and just heads to the runway. I do not then have the altitude or speed that is in the constraint for this STAR, which means I am not using VNAV for the final APP mode. I hope this issue will finally be corrected in the next release, since it did work back in 1.3. This happened at KJFK rwy 31L, my test flight.  Also why is the speedbrake extended sign only appearing when on the ground and not in the air when drag is applied.
Thanks for the pass sign on now and of course the clock and better centerline landings. ;)

Being as inquisitive as I am I see where a line was added to the aircraft.cfg file to disconnect the AP when the Yoke is moved (as per the Changes menu)

I think CS forgot to add it to the B773 and B774 models??

AP_VS_maxcontrol=30
AP_FLCH_speed=2
AP_FLCH_window=16

[gpws]
max_warning_height=0.1

Maybe should be:-

AP_VS_maxcontrol=30
AP_FLCH_speed=2
AP_FLCH_window=16
AP_joystick_disc=25000

[gpws]
max_warning_height=0.1

And I haven't flown it yet!!  :)

Try adding it to the 777-300 and Freighter aircraft.cfg and see if it works. :)

Mark are you saying the lines were in the V1.5 downloads you applied?

No. It was just a suggestion. ;D

Here the 1.5 and choosing CS777 crashes the sim. No matter if the AV is switched off during download or installation. Reverting back to 1.4.

A quick question.

I applied the 1.4 (csu772_1400.exe) with no problem - apart from the now familiar AVAST dance.

I got the dreaded order number run-around when trying to apply the 1.5 patch.

I bought the initial 777 Exterior Model, then the Upgrade, then the 300 Expansion.

Which order number should I be using? The Exterior Model or the Upgrade? Both failed to work, then I got the 1hr security warning when trying to do offline activation.

Adam.

UPDATE: Sorted the order number thing out (!).
I also run DX10+Fixer so had to do the "Toned Shadows" (set to off) trick.

Beautiful plane, but still very bad fps. I renamed the file for Weather radar, slightly better performance. Other aircraft are smooth. I have almost all aircraft CS,... beauty.
