You would probably be better off with the 777 for P3D v2. It will cost you €29.99.

Hi Buddy:
Hope all is well - better in what way will it perform better ? asI am only getting 15fps in and around airports with all setting at normal - no shadows on and I have a high end system other than that seems very nice - thank you |

I get between 15 (at large airports/cities) and 25 (at the lower altitudes away from large airports/cities), but my sliders are up pretty high (not maxed out though). I gotta have those shadows too! ;)

Thanks Brother - about the same her as my autogen was at normal on 3 sliders - and I am getting close to 30 outside airports - maybe this will get better with p3d next update - looking good for the future

The 777 looks great in P3D v2. I'll probably do most of my flights with it in there. ;D

Pardon my ignorance, but I can't seem to start my own thread so I'm sort of hijacking this one...
I just purchased the P3D version (also own the FSX version). After installing I seem to run into the anti-piracy measures. Following the suggestions in the knowledgebase does not work (reinstalling, removing registry keys, etc etc.). Has anyone else had this issue, or does someone have some more suggestions to try before I turn to CS support? For good measure: W8.1 Update 1 Tried reinstalling Tried reinstalling after removing registry values and rebooting All installs as Administrator P3D V2 outside C:\ Any anti-virus ignores the P3D folder/drive and also the folder/drive where the installer is located. I hope this is fixable, I hear good things about 1.4. |

Have you tried the Manual Offline Activation? That usually helps in these situations.

Do I need 10 posts before I can start a thread?
Cheers, Rob. |

Tried it today, no luck. After that I actually reinstalled Windows as it was long overdue anyway. Fresh Windows, fresh P3D V2, fresh CS 777 1.4 P3D installer... no landing gear, yoke locked left (even with the overhead switches correct) etc etc. Don't know what else to try... Edit: And now when I install the L-1011 for P3D V2 it has the same issue... Extremely frustrating, it's like I'm marked as pirate or something? :-( Better go and file a support ticket. |

Did you install the P3D version of the 777 - also the yoke all the way to the left means you have to turn on all the switches behind the captains chair its above the cabin door - bit hard to get at but you will see them there - not on the overhead panel - also if you load another basic aircraft engines running - just load 777 after and you will not have to worry about those switches they will be on - I think they are hydraulic switches

As stated, yes I installed the P3D version of course (I didn't spent another €30 just to install the FSX version, hehe ;)). And yes, I know which switches to use, I've had the CS 777 since 0.8 or 0.9 :).
I think there is some sort of bug in their installer(s) that causes it to not register correctly, or the addon does not read the proper reg info or something. Otherwise I don't know how to explain the fact that it gives me no errors during install but then throws these anti-piracy measures in my face when I load the aircraft :(. Especially on a fresh, clean Windows install. |

Did you turn off/disabled your Anti-Virus software while you were installing the 777? It could be that your AV saw a/some gauge(s) as threats, and prevented them being installed.
Take a look at the image in this post: http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1403249614/27#27, and check that your CS_B777-200ER_GE\panel has all the gauges in it. |

Yes, all the gauges are there. And a reinstall with AV (standard Windows Defender) off did not help either unfortunately.

You should try manual offline activation.

Reinstalling with manual activation did not work either (even with registry cleanup).
However, I seem to have it fixed now... Don't ask how, because I really don't know exactly. Sequence of events this evening: - Uninstall + registry cleanup - Install with manual activation - Uninstall + registry cleanup - Install normally, still not working - Install Estonia Migration Tool - Install FSX version of CS 777 1.4 on top of the P3D V2 install - Start P3D in Legacy Mode, now all is working, with the FSX version though - Uninstall both, leave registry as is - Reinstall the P3D version of the 777 1.4 - Bam... working Weird stuff going on. Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm just glad to have it fixed now. |

Markoz,
I just got Prepar3D V2 mostly using and testing VFR flights. So far only have all my Carenado's fleet. Now, how is the B777 handles on this one? I can get away with clouds on the ground and the ocean, But i like the shadows inside the VC. Now how is the frame on that, especially like on a FSDT scenery airports? Thanks, Kin M. (Klax) |

Title: Re: PV2 Version installer Post by Markoz on Jul 9th, 2014 at 1:35pm
I don't have any FSDT airports, so I can't say what the framerates will be if you use them. I have higher settings in P3Dv2, than I do in FSX and I slightly better, framerates (about 5 fps more) in P3Dv2. I have it casting shadows on itself, on the ground, in the VC, I have the clouds casting shadows on the ground and being reflected on the ocean.
As for the performance of the 777 (FMC, AP/MCP, LNAV and VNAV), it seems to be pretty much the same as it is in FSX. I definitely prefer to use the 777 in P3Dv2! |

Thanks....
The last few days i've been tweaking it, so i can balance the quality and the performance. I will try to fly with it more and experiment before i can dive on the CS777 version. So far, looking good...i have REX, OPUS and FTX Global on it now. Kin M. (Klax) |
