Sorry ! I forgot to mention a detail about fuel and reserve.

There is a FAA regulation that control the operation of twin jets over remote area ( land or water ) called ETOPS.

This regulation provide for the loss of one engine in a decompressed situation, to divert to a suitalble airport within 180 min
at low altitude.

These critical points are identified on the flight plan with the diversion airports  to go to.
We are lucky to have well maintained aircrafts that never fail
But it is part of it !

Boeing and Airbus are trying to extend the 180min to 330min to fly anywhere on earth!!!!

Pilots train to face the unexpected.
I am a small pilot VFR day night <3000 lbs retract and adj prop.
flew a PA 28-201R, most of my flights were basically training flights
get ready for non standard conditions
I fly one in FSX, for fun, with my original flight manual.

Raymond   Boeing or nothing
KFLL  South Florida
