Yes, I agree the flare is almost not there.
The flare on the real plane is not very large, but a lot more than the on in these planes. In all the real auto lands I've done in both the 757 & 767 the idea is to not hold the plane off for a smooth landing, but to land on the target [1,000 foot point] and track the LOC and auto brake to a smooth stop. I have never seen the plane float if the V-ref is set correctly. Even in a crosswind, the plane slips to a landing and the flare is minimum depending on the sink rate. Lou |
